Hello there,
If you are a guest and if you have directed your browser to this page. I would like say thank you for at least having some interest in PCW. It's better to have some interest in the fed than none at all. In this post, I'm going to hit up the background of the fed and some other things because I don't believe that has been done here yet. But nonetheless, I will do so here.
.) PCW is a bi-weekly fed. I have come to realize that it is a mixed bag when it comes to the average e-fedder. Some love the bi-weekly aspect while others do love to do their thing on a weekly basis. Hey, nothing wrong with either choice. I think it's fairly obvious that we all have lives and that we do this solely as a hobby with real life always being of importance over fed life (that's a motto here and everywhere else) and every e-fedder is looking for that one special place that will accommodate his/her schedule. With bi-weekly feds, things tend to develop at a slower pace, with the shows being every two weeks and all. Storylines progress at a naturally slower rate than a weekly fed that has weekly television show/pay-per-view events. Of course that does come with the territory.
.) The end of the first point is the perfect segway into this next point. As I already stated, PCW holds it's shows every two weeks - but we do try and keep the fort active during the off weeks. For example, PCW holds two house show events per cycle and we try to make sure some entertainment is provided on that front and storylines are either started or furthers along on those shows. We might not be a weekly fed like we were the first go around... but the storylines will at least be continued on some level and in some form, you really get one show a week.
a.) Communication is important: I'm sure you get the idea on this tidbit, but communicating with each other both in-character and out of character is key. It's MAJOR when it comes to our hobby and for the most part, it can/will be the difference between gaining and maintaining members and losing members and having people pass up on the fed. But our best is done on trying to be active. Now don't get it twisted - nobody is asking you to be all posting nazi's and all that, especially if one's shy/not talkative. Believe me, in real life, I'm not exactly the talking type myself and in some feds I was in when I was an active role-player - that was the same deal. But at least make the attempt to take part in the various threads on the OOC board. It shows everyone that you care and see this place as a community, as opposed to just something you RP for and win imaginary championships.
b.) Also when joining the fed. PLEASE provide some type of contact information. Be it IM service (Yahoo, AIM, MSN, etc), email, Twitter, or anything in between. If you don't want that stuff to be public knowledge. Hey, I can respect that. But in case something majorly happened to the boards or just need to contact you with something rather important. I need some form of communication besides the PM on the boards (nothing wrong with that of course).
c.) Twitter has become part of the communication phase in PCW. PCW has it's very own Twitter account which is @wrestlepremium and a good portion of this roster have their own accounts. Obviously, getting a Twitter account isn't mandated or required. But with PCW being a bi-weekly fed, we need to do everything we can to keep people engaged and storylines progressing and Twitter is just that tool to do it. And of course, the PCW Twitter is IN-CHARACTER only. No out of character drama is prohibited. So if you make one for your character. Remember, in-character only. No OOC stuff.
.) Which leads me to this. PCW tries to have a drama free zone at all times. Yes, there is the possibility of some tiffs and stuff in-between. I'm not gonna outright say PCW is perfect because we certainly are not, nor are we better than anybody else (and acting like that in an OOC stance is a poor representation of the fed because PCW prides itself on just being PCW and are willing to work well with others), but we try to provide a friendly drama free environment. Anybody is welcome in the community.
.) Fun - At the end of the day, that's what e-fedding should be about. Just have fun. Yes, wins and losses matter to an extent. But at the end of the day, it should be the storylines and the experience that matter most. We try to be fair to everyone when it comes to pushes, championship matches, etc. No special treatments on that front for anybody. I'm an owner that doesn't ask for much. Not asking for over 10k RP's every round, 4k word RP's or anything like that. All I'm asking from you is to be active, contribute, and be respectful while you're here. With PCW, you get out what you put in. You work hard and give 100%, you get rewarded for those efforts.
.) This has been stated throughout e-fedding before, and it's no different here. PCW might be a welcoming community and all, but only join PCW if you are serious about it. Losing members is all a part of the game. It's unfortunate, but it is what it is. You can't keep everyone that comes through, BUT if you are just going to sign up and end up flaking out. PLEASE do everyone a favor and don't sign up. Signing up and flaking is a waste of everyone's time, including your own.
