Here is another album I reviewed a while back on that other forum. I figured I would go back to the time where music truly meant something, and in the world of Hip Hop. Very few could do it better than the following artist, who's album is quite possibly the greatest in his discography...
Book One1. "Ambitionz az a Ridah"
2. "All bout U" (featuring Nate Dogg, Top Dogg, Dru Down & Fatal-N-Felony)
3. "Skandalouz" (featuring Nate Dogg)
4. "Got My Mind Made Up" (featuring Daz Dillinger, Kurupt, Method Man & Redman)
5. "How Do U Want It" (featuring K-Ci & JoJo)
6. "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted" (featuring Snoop Doggy Dogg)
7. "No More Pain"
8. "Heartz of Men"
9. "Life Goes On"
10. "Only God Can Judge Me" (featuring Rappin' 4-Tay)
11. "Tradin War Stories" (featuring C-Bo, Dramacydal & Storm)
12. "California Love (Remix)" (featuring Dr. Dre & Roger Troutman)
13. "I Ain't Mad at Cha" (featuring Danny Boy)
14. "What'z Ya Phone #" (featuring Danny Boy)
Book Two1. "Can't C Me" (featuring George Clinton)
2. "Shorty Wanna Be a Thug"
3. "Holla at Me" (featuring Jewell)
4. "Wonda Why They Call U Bitch"
5. "When We Ride" (featuring Outlaw Immortalz)
6. "Thug Passion" (featuring Jewell, Dramacydal & Storm)
7. "Picture Me Rollin'" (featuring CPO, Danny Boy & Big Syke)
8. "Check Out Time" (featuring Kurupt, Big Syke & Natasha Walker)
9. "Ratha Be Ya Nigga" (featuring Richie Rich)
10. "All Eyez on Me" (featuring Big Syke)
11. "Run Tha Streetz" (featuring Michel'le, Napoleon & Storm)
12. "Ain't Hard 2 Find" (featuring C-Bo, D-Shot, B-Legit, E-40 & Richie Rich)
13. "Heaven Ain't Hard 2 Find" (featuring Danny Boy)
This album was released in February of 1996. Exactly seven months before 2Pac passed away from being shot. Anywho, I've had this album for a few years now, and its still a great joy to listen to. It's definitely a change of style from his earlier work, but it definitely suited him better. You still get the songs of deep meaning, but it's got more of an up-tempo feel, and its not a bad thing at all to be honest. A lot of great tracks on this one, but my absolute favorites would have to be "Ambitionz az a Ridah", "How Do U Want It", "2 of Amerikaz Most Wanted", "California Love", "Thug Passion" and "Shorty Wanna Be a Thug".
Rating: A+. This is without a doubt one of 2Pac's greatest albums, and there isn't a bad song on here at all. Even though he was already popular as an artist, he was truly coming into his own at this time. Damn shame that he's gone too.
