[Man, how long has it been since my words have been heard or televised? I think it's been roughly a year now since the PCW went under or went on hiatus. However you want to say it. Either way I made a careful decision about my future back then, to fade away to start a family with my wife. To turn my back on the profession that made me money. Why? Because I was broken down. My body isn't getting any younger. Plus I wanted to walk away from the madness. From what I saw. Shit hit the fan in a big way. Something I'm glad I had no part of. I was more than busy taking care of my little girl Jane. The new focus in my life. That was until the last few weeks.
I recently attended a dinner with my old buddies from companies past. It was during this dinner that I heard of rumors of PCW being brought back from hiatus. At first I dismissed it as merely here say. As merely tabloid headlines. Yet everywhere I have looked. Posters of the PCW re emergence are everywhere. Shops, parks, even in dark, dank alley walls. I even had every former fans of mine asking if I'm going to join up. I keep telling them I retired. Yet they don't believe me. Sure I've lied in the past. But I've gone on the straight and narrow since then and I swear I would not lie to any of you out there.
After all, I have always told you people the truth. And as many people have realized in the past. My word is as good as Gospel.]
(One Year Ago, an hour after cataclysm has gone off the air.)
(Our scene opens up to the inside of an empty locker room or so it seems until we see sitting on the floor against a white brick wall the former PCW world heavyweight champion Sickboy. His body language tells it all. Tonight he lost. He lost the match, he lost the title and tonight he lost his opportunity to go out as a champion on PCW's last night. But most of all he knows that tonight was his last night as an active competitor. He is no longer an active participant after his words he spoke the past week. It's over.)
Voice: Curtis?
(Sickboy's head lifts up to see his beautiful fiancΓ© looking down at him. Dressed in denim jeans and a white tank top with her long black hair tied in a pony tail. And as we have previously learnt. The bearer of Sickboy's child. She sits down next to Sickboy and hugs him tightly.)
Emma: Are you alright?
Sickboy: Yeah, I just can't believe it's over now.
Emma: Yeah it is. But that's the past. Right now, you and I have a future to look forward to with a child on the way. We've got everything in the world to look forward to.
Sickboy: You're right.
Emma: I always am aren't I? Come on, let's go out and party while I still have my freedom left.
(Present day, New York City.)
(Our scene opens up to the inside of Curtis 'Sickboy' Wilkes luxury home in New York City. Which is still in immaculate condition with all the finer and up to date items that a man can buy. Deeper inside there is even a gym. Where inside we see Sickboy in the process of doing chin ups on the high bar. Dressed in cut off denim shorts with black converse high tops and a black sweat shirt. His long black hair is now down past his shoulders. But for a year in retirement, he seems in good shape at age 31. Just as he finishes his last chin ups a loud beeping sound can be heard from what appears to be an intercom in the corner of the room. Sickboy let's out a deep breath before answering it.)
Sickboy: Wilkes Residence. State your business.
: It's Dennis Donelley. I was wondering if I could have an interview with you.
Sickboy: About?
DD: About wrestling in general.
Sickboy: Okay, I'll buzz you in. Charles will lead you into the lounge room and I'll meet you there.
(A few minutes later Sickboy walks into his lounge room where Dennis is sitting on couch with Sickboy's personal assistant Charles standing next to him. Dennis gets up from the couch and extends his hand to Sickboy which he grips in a firm handshake. With a a little nod to his assistant. Charles disappears from the room leaving the two men alone. Sickboy sitting at one end of coffee table and Dennis on the other.)
DD: Nice house.
Sickboy: Thanks. How life treating you Dennis?
DD: Not too badly. Considering I had to find other employment when PCW went on it's hiatus. I'm now writing for a wrestling magazine. Which is why I am here.
Sickboy: you must be struggling to be here interviewing me. I haven't wrestled in a year and a half. Retired with my head held semi high.
DD: Why only semi high?
Sickboy: Is this part of your article?
DD: It will be.
Sickboy:Then i'll tell you what I mean. The loss at Cataclysm haunts me still. Picture this Dennis. I was the champion. With the last PPV on the air. I had the chance to retire as the champion. Yet I had my head kicked off my shoulders, then my shoulders pinned to the mat by Michael Morrison of all people. He took my glory and my thunder. So I was more than a little downhearted. No matter though. I kept my word and retired.
DD: Do you miss it though?
Sickboy: The wrestling? In a way yes and no. Yes because of what it brought me. Fame and fortune, fans all around the globe, a sense of accomplishment. Then there are the reasons why I don't miss it. The physical toll on my body kept rising with pain killers being part of my diet. The bullshit politics and bitchiness. And the emotional toll. What it did to me. My wife. My friends. That's what I don't miss about it.
DD: Rumors are circulating that the PCW will be coming back from it's hiatus. Do you see yourself Curtis Wilkes coming back?
Sickboy: No. I won't be coming back. Emma, Len and I are happy to be away from the sport. I have a beautiful wife and daughter to look after. Len's management firm is doing exceedingly well and Emma is happy to be a stay at home mom. I am not coming back. So we can dispel the rumors right now. It's time for the new breed to take charge and that's how it should be.
DD: So you wish them luck?
Sickboy: I do, I hope they succeed. No, scratch that. I know they'll succeed. They have a young roster, a great staff and many former champions that are going to make this work. I guarantee it will be a great era for the sport.
DD: Thank you Curtis for the interview.
Sickboy: My pleasure Dennis.
[So with that being said I will not be returning to PCW. The question you must ask yourself though is. Am I telling you a lie? Or am I telling you the truth?
You be the judge.]
