The scene opened up inside of a darkened gym, the sounds of someone hitting a wrestling mat being the only sound heard. Inside of the ring in the middle of the gym, two people are seen in the ring, one having the other locked in a sitting version of The Abdominal Stretch. The person on the mat was Syn, who was trying to fight out of the submission hold locked on him by his younger brother, Kai. Over by the wall, Syn’s protégé, Jin look on as Syn manages to get back to his feet and sends Kai to the ropes, before executing an armdrag takedown. Jin was the “Acting Official” for this exhibition between the two brothers, and was in awe of the technical prowess that Kai was showing, as well as the adaptability that Syn showed, allowing him to match kai hold for hold in some instances. Jin was brought out of his thoughts as Kai cuffed him over the head to get his attention.
Kai: We’re starting a new match.
Jin rubbed the spot where Kai had hit him and blinked, surprised that he missed the ending of the match.
Jin: Huh, who won?
Kai stared blankly at Jin.
Kai: If you had bothered to pay a shred of attention, you would have seen Syn counter my Crossface into a modified schoolboy.
Syn, who was lying across the top turnbuckle in the far corner, rolled off and landed on his feet, before walking over to where Kai and Jin were.
Syn: I’ve got the Lion’s Share in cunning, intelligence, and adaptability, little brother; but as far as sheer talent and natural ability go, I’m afraid I’m at the shallow end of the gene pool.
Kai looked away at embarrassment at the thinly veiled compliment. While it was no secret that Syn acknowledged Kai as being the superior wrestler between the two of them, Kai was still unused to praise coming from his older brother. He insisted that they were on even ground on more than one occasion, but Syn still told him that he was better, and it was strange to Kai. Ignoring the feeling, Kai turned to Jin and gave him, an even look.
Kai: You’re our official again, and please pay attention this time.
Jin nodded in confirmation as he stepped back into a corner, allowing the two to stand face to face in the middle of the ring. Kai and Syn stared down for a moment, before they both slowly turned and looked at Jin expectantly. Jin stared back at them, before he finally realized why they were staring at him.
Jin:…OH! Right, this is the part where I tell you two to get started or something like that, right?
Kai pinched the bridge of his nose as his patience wore thin, while Syn gave Jin an amused look.
Syn: That would be correct, yes.
Jin stepped out of the way of the two brothers, before he signaled for them to begin. They immediately drop into wrestling stances and begin circling each other, waiting for the other to make the first move. Kai suddenly shot out and wrapped both arms around Syn’s waist for an attempted Waist-lock takedown, but Syn sprawls out to avoid it. The two separate and slowly make it back to their feet lock up in the middle of the ring, before Syn gets the better of the exchange, wrenching on the wrist and arm of Kai.
Kai grunts in pain and tries to fight out of the hold, before he manages to get to the ropes for the break. Syn slowly lets go and Kai glares at him as he wags his finger mockingly at him.
Syn: A little fun for me, none for you, ne Kai?
Kai lets go of the ropes and locks back up with Syn and this time he gets the advantage with the side headlock. Syn tries to fight out of it, but Kai rolls over with a headlock takeover. Jin sees that Syn's shoulders are on the mat and goes for to make the pin!
One...
Tw-Syn rolls back over into the side headlock and breaks the pin!
Syn’s shoulders are on the mat again and the ref goes for the pin, but Syn gets the shoulder up before the one count. Syn’s shoulder goes back down to the mat and the ref goes to make the count again, and again Syn gets the shoulder up before the one count. Syn finally manages to fight back to his feet and sends Kai to the ropes, then drops him with a big shoulder knockdown on the return. He bounces off the ropes and leapfrogs over Kai, and Kai catches him with an armdrag takedown! Both men get back to their feet and charge at eachother, and Syn catches Kai with an armdrag of his own! Both men get back to their feet and stare down as Jin gives a low whistle of appreciation for the very quick exchange.
Syn: It seems we’re done with the warm-up phase of this, wouldn’t you agree.
Kai smirks, and then motions for Syn to bring it.
Kai: I do. Let’s get a bit serious, shall we?
The two brothers lock up again, and Kai again gets the advantage with a side headlock, much to Syn’s annoyance. Syn tries to counter out of it, and Kai takes him down with another headlock takeover. Syn struggles for a moment, before throwing his legs up and managing to wrap them around Kai's neck, breaking the hold. Kai kipped up to break this hold and both men scrambled to their feet. Kai charges at Syn, and gets caught coming in with a Japanese Armdrag! Syn keeps on the attack, stomping at Kai’s left arm, before yanking Kai back to his feet. Syn locks Kai in a hammerlock and lifts him high, before dropping him on his head and arm with a modified backdrop suplex! He quickly goes into a cover.
One…
Tw-Kickout at two by Kai!
Syn brought Kai back to his feet by his arm and locks in a wristlock, keeping his focus on the injured left arm. Syn goes for an Irish whip, but Kai counters and yanks Syn in close – Capture Suplex, sending Syn flying half-way across the ring! Syn staggers back to his feet and into a corner, before Kai charges over and begins laying into his older brother with the knees to the body. Kai headbutts Syn, before rearing back and hitting him with a hard knife-edge chop! Syn slumps in the corner after the shot, and Kai drags him back to his feet and hits him with another hard chop! He grabs Syn by the arm yanks him into a Short Arm Clothesline, before dropping down into a pin.
One…
Two…
Thr-Syn kicks out!
Kai doesn’t miss a beat, picking Syn up to his feet, before sending him back down to the ground with a stiff headbutt. Kai lifts Syn back up to his feet and whips him to the ropes –Syn ducks under the clothesline, but gets caught coming back in by a spin kick to the midsection from Kai! Kai bounced off the ropes – Syn catches him coming in with a dropkick right on the jaw! Syn then goes to pick Kai up, but Kai nails him with a right hand, forcing him to let go and stumble backwards. He gets behind Syn and goes for a German Suplex, but Syn blocks it. Kai goes for it again, but Syn counters it with a Snapmare takeover. Kai gets back to his feet, and gets dropped back down with a dropkick from Syn. He picks Kai back up and forearms him in the face, before bouncing off of the ropes and dropping him with a hard Lariat! Syn goes out onto the ring apron and springboards back in as Kai staggers to his feet – Syn went for the Hurricanranna, but Kai countered it and is trying to turn Syn over for the Cloverleaf! He manages to get Syn onto his stomach, then drops down to one knee and places the other in Syn’s lower back as he locks it in! Syn hissed in pain and clawed at the mat, trying desperately to get to the ropes!
Kai: (Grunting) Do you yield?
Syn: (Straining to reverse the submission hold) Have....I...EVER?
Syn slammed his fist down onto the mat as he tried to turn on his side and find a way out of the submission hold – Syn managed to turn it into a small package!
One…
Two…
Thr – Kai kicks out!
Both men scramble to their feet and Kai charges at Syn, and Syn ducks under the attempt and leaps towards the ropes – Springboard Tornado DDT by Syn! Both men are down and Jin starts the count.
One…
Two…..
Three…..
Four…..
Kai, who was nearly to his feet at four, leveled Jin with a mild glare.
Kai: Stop counting, we’re both back up.
Jin shrugged sheepishly as Syn makes it back to his feet first, followed by Kai. Kai goes for a right hand, but Syn blocks it and get Kai with a forearm shot to the face! Syn bounced off the ropes – Spinning Wheel Kick! He waits for Kai to get back to his feet, before kicking him in the midsection and lifting him up and dropping Kai stomach first onto the top rope. Syn bounces off the ropes – Dropkick to the head, bringing Kai back into the ring the hard way! He pulls Kai to the center of the ring and goes for the pin.
One…
Two…
Thre-Kai kicks out right before the two count!
Syn picks Kai up and nails him with a forearm to the jaw, sending him back down to a knee. Syn gets him back to a vertical base, and again sends him back down with a forearm to the face. Syn goes for it a third time – Kai reverses and gets behind Syn – German Suplex! Kai keeps his hands clasped as he rolls himself and Syn back to a standing position – a second German Suplex! Kai rolls himself and Syn back to a standing position and goes for a third German – Syn blocks it! Kai goes for it again – Syn counters for the go behind – German Supl-NO! Kai rolls through and sends Syn through the ropes and out to the floor! Kai waits silently for Syn to get back to his feet, sitting down in the middle of the ring Indian style as Syn staggered back to a vertical base. Syn paused for a moment, before glaring at Kai.
Syn: You’re enjoying this, aren’t you?
Kai, from his seated position, gave his older brother a small smirk.
Kai: Oh, unbelievably.
Syn slid into the ring and Kai rolled to his feet, managing to avoid a clothesline from Syn and catches him with a mule kick to the midsection, before he hooked Syn’s head and leg – Cradle Belly-To-Back suplex!
One…
Two…
Thr-Syn gets the shoulder up!
Kai gives his brother a look of frustration, before shakily making it back to his feet and waits as Syn gets to his knees, before hitting him with a stiff kick straight to the chest. He brings his leg back, and hits him again with another hard kick. Kai hits Syn with two more kicks, before going for a buzzsaw kick – Syn ducks the kick and springs back to his feet – High Angle Backbreaker! Syn looked towards the nearest turnbuckle and starts to climb, thinking Falling into Chaos, before Kai leapt up to his feet and sprang up onto the top rope with Syn, smirking. Syn didn’t waste any time and roughly shoved Kai back down to the mat and went for Falling Into Chaos – Kai rolled out of the way and Syn rolled through to avoid the crash and burn! Both got to their feet and were prepared to go at it again, when Jin stopped them.
Jin: TIME!
Both Syn and Kai stared at him, before Jin spoke again.
Jin: It’s been 30 minutes. The match is a draw, boss.
Syn looked up at the clock, and noted that 30 minutes had indeed passed.
Syn: I see. Well, Kai, It looks as if this one is indeed a draw.
Kai nods, and gives Syn a small smirk.
Kai: For now, at least.
Jin walked over to both and placed an arm over both men’s shoulders, grinning from ear to ear.
Jin: Ah, competition between brothers. It’s a beautiful thing, ne Kai? Syn?
Both Syn and Kai turn and look blankly at Jin, before they both reach up and grab an arm, and twist hard, causing the teenager to yelp in pain. They let go after a few moments, allowing Jin to wince as he rubbed his now abused limbs.
Jin: Right. I can see you two want some down time. So I’ll just, uh, go get changed and junk and…..let you two have some down time.
Jin quickly exited the ring left for the locker room, causing Kai to smirk slightly. His smirk disappeared as he saw the serious look on Syn’s face as he leaned onto the top rope.
Kai: I take it you’ve not yet come to a decision regarding Morgan Simons’ offer to you?
Syn nods in confirmation, thinking over his options once again as he went over the pros and con’s of the Toxic/DOS partnership becoming something more. On one hand, while the partnership was the longest standing he had had in his 15 months as a wrestler, he DESPISED the idea of working with people, as did Kai. It was nothing personal against the girls and J.T., he just hated people in general; not to mention the fact that he didn’t really like the idea of “Taking Over” PCW like Morgan more than likely intended to, so much as burning it to the ground. On the other hand, not only were the Disciples learning from several experienced veterans, but the company they were in, which consisted of a Tag Team Legend, and several very beautiful young women, could definitely be far worse. Still, he had much to think about before he gave his decision.
Syn: No. There are too many variables to consider to just give a quick yes or no answer without thinking everything through.
Kai nods in agreement with Syn’s assessment. While he himself didn’t really care whether or not the partnership continued, he wouldn’t deny that it was beneficial to them to a degree.
Kai: We’ll follow you in whatever you decide.
Syn smirked slightly at the show of utter devotion to him, before turning to Kai.
Syn: I know, and that’s what worries me.
Kai frowned at the response, but otherwise said nothing as he rolled under the bottom rope and exited the ring. Syn watched as Kai made his way to the locker room to change, before giving a regretful sigh.
Syn: I fail him time and time again, and yet he still remains loyal to me. Somehow, someday, little brother, I will repay that loyalty in full.
Syn continued to brood over the his thoughts for several moments, before he rolled out of the ring and exited the gym, mentally preparing for what it was he was about to do as the scene faded.
-------------------------------------------------- (Alisyn’s home, 35 minutes later) ---------------------------
The scene opened back up to Mya Denton sitting at a small desk inside of the room she was given in the home in Rosemont, Illinois, sighing for what seemed to be the thousandth time in the last hour. After spending upwards of over a month with the Disciples of Syn, she had never been more confused in her life. They had essentially kidnapped her after her horrible ordeal with Draven, yet they made sure she was comfortable. Syn had tormented her since she had arrived, from literal torture to severe restrictions, and yet he also did his part to help her slowly get by what happened to her. And then there was Kai…
Mya flushed slightly at the thought of the younger wrestler. He liked her. He was a cold, ruthless, efficient wrestling machine who seemed to view everyone with the exception of Syn in disdain, and yet he felt some form of attraction and affection towards her, and had admitted as much to her. Why her specifically, neither of them knew, but Mya knew that whatever feelings he had towards her, she may feel about him. In contrast to his older brother, Kai had been nothing but kind since they had taken her. He was quiet, withdrawn, and a fair bit distant to most, but he has been good to her, answering her questions as honestly as he could and helping her in any way that he was allowed. She didn’t quite know what to think when it came to either brother.
?: It looks as if you’re deep in thought, Miss Denton.
Mya jumped and shrieked slightly at the very familiar silky, sinister tone of voice that broke her out of her thoughts. She turned around to look at her doorway, and saw Syn standing there, his features obscured by the black hoodie he was wearing, and his eyes peering at her in a curious manner. Mya tried to push down the overwhelming sense of fear she was getting from the man in front of her as she spoke.
Mya: I was.
Syn raised a brow at the somewhat meek response, before he sighed and held up his hands in surrender.
Syn: Relax. If I wanted to get you, My Dear, I wouldn’t allow you to see me do it.
Mya shutters at that very thought but looks at Syn as her curiosity got the best of her. What did he want with her now?
Mya: What do you want then, other than annoy me? Is more torture on the menu today?
Syn chuckled darkly at Mya's defiance, before gliding over to where the young woman was sitting. She flinched as Syn placed a hand on top of her head, before he started speaking.
Syn: Alas, I'm afraid I won't be able to play our usual games today, but seeing as how you're so eager for a bit of torture........
Mya shivered at the dark tone of voice, before quickly replying to Syn.
Mya: I never said I was eager for that! It just seems to be what it is that you do.
Syn clicked his teeth with his tongue, before giving her a dark smirk.
Syn: You'll find that whatever I "Seem" to be may not entirely real, my dear, but that is a story for another time.
Mya sighed in resignation at Syn's response.
Mya: What do you want, Syn?
Syn withdraws his hand from her head and clasps them, giving Mya an attentive look.
Syn: Ah, you see, I'm in a bit of a situation. I had a gift in mind for someone, but I'm not entirely sure that they would enjoy it. o I need an, uh, second opinion. A feminine one, at that.
Mya gives Syn a look, not entirely trusting him.
Mya: This isn't a trick, is it?
Syn laughed outright at Mya's question, ignoring the indignant look she was giving him.
Syn: Now Mya, dear, do you truly think that I would waste valuable time and effort with an elaborate plot all just to play games with you? No. That's to simple for someone like me.
Mya was still skeptical of Syn's motives, but given his history when it came to deceiving people, she had no choice but to believe him for the moment.
Mya: What is it that I have to do?
Syn patted Mya on the head and gave her a hollow smile.
Syn: At the moment, Miss Denton, nothing. I require some preparation for this "gift", so I do not require your services for the time being.
Mya gave him a look of uncertainty, but slowly gave a nod OK in response. Syn withdrew his hand from her head as his eyes lit up in manic delight.
Syn: Ah, excellent. I thank you for this -
Syn gave Mya a very sinister smile
Syn: You have no idea how much I mean that.
Mya shrugged slightly, but suddenly felt nervous about the decision to help Syn. What was it that she had just agreed to? What gift did Syn have that he required her help, of all things, to see if it was OK? These thoughts and more swirled around Mya's head as she watched Syn leave as the scene faded to black.
Kai: We’re starting a new match.
Jin rubbed the spot where Kai had hit him and blinked, surprised that he missed the ending of the match.
Jin: Huh, who won?
Kai stared blankly at Jin.
