"Three times the charm can be a curse, if your cards aren't played right."-Hano Eiyu
I am in the city of Atlanta. It was night time, and the lights had prevented the darkness from engulfing everything in my way. I wished I was in my home. The apartments I am currently staying in have less comfort to my mindset. Right now, I am walking through the almost empty streets. Few beggars were sitting on the ground, staring at my appearance. My opponents will be a challenge. Two legends and one rival I have recently faced. I was strong in my first match. I will have to be stronger.
Beggar: Hey, spare some change?
I look and see a beggar with a can of coins.
Hano Eiyu: Would you like a 50 cent coin, sir?
I placed the coin in his can. He seemed happy.
Beggar: Thank you so much, kind sir!
He ran off to his ragged children. I smiled at the joy I have donated. I continued to walk, passing many shops and apartments on the way. I look to see a Japanese restaurant. With enough money, I walked there to see if they developed the craft of my homeland's cooking:
Waitress: Hello, welcome to the Rising Sun. Are you here to have something?
The waitress was very pretty. She had a bit of brown hair, her smile were as white as pearls. She looked almost my age, but a year younger. She might be Japanese, but with the American accent, she must have stayed here long. I nodded.
Waitress: Will it be just you?
Another nod from me.
Waitress: Right this way, sir!
I sat at the table she led me.
Waitress: So, what are you supposed to be? A samurai?
Hano Eiyu: I am a swordsman from the east.
Waitress: I see. Now what will it be?
I gave her my order. It was a lot of cuisine, but I have enough money to pay for it. Besides, I wanted to see how the Japanese food in America tastes like.
Later...
It was okay. The chef must be Japanese or might've studied in Japan. Though, the teriyaki beef was too cooked. It would be nice to eat some red.
Hano Eiyu: Bill, please.
I received the bill from the pretty waitress. 32 dollars. I checked my wallet. I had a 50 dollar note. So I gave it to the waitress.
Waitress: Thank you.
She went to the back as I waited for my change. I gripped onto my wooden bokken real tightly. A minute later, she came back with the change. I took back 18 dollars.
Hano Eiyu: Thank you.
I got up and began to walk out of the restaurant.
Waitress: Wait. Can you at least tell me who you are?
I turned around and looked at her.
Hano Eiyu: I'm just a wanderer--
I was interrupted by a ear-piercing shriek.
Bystander: Hey, it's PCW superstar, Hano Eiyu!
I turn around and see a group of fans outside the restaurant.
Hano Eiyu: Damn it!
There was no escape. Unless...
Hano Eiyu: Excuse me, miss. Do you have a backdoor here?
Waitress: Yeah. Next to the bathroom.
Hano Eiyu: Thank you!
I ran to the back and there were two doors. I knew which one was which, so I ran out of the backdoor. I found myself in an alley. I turned around to see that I was the only one here.
Hano Eiyu: Praise Bishamonten.
I walked out of the alley and saw the crowd surrounding the restaurant.
Bystander: What do you mean he isn't in there?
Crazy Fan: We just saw him in there!
Hano Eiyu: Are people in Atlanta like this when they see someone?
I sighed and walked the opposite direction, hoping not to get caught. I wondered how many people know me already. To my eye, there was a poster of me and several other members of the PCW on a wall.
Hano Eiyu: That explains it.
So this is how it feels to be a wrestler. One victory and I'm already known. It's quite a surprise to me. I'll be facing four opponents for a trophy, am I right? It feels really fast to me. But I need to test my skills against as many obstacles as they appear. My bokken may not be able to aid me in this upcoming battle. But I am still ready enough to fight my way through the roster. Allies or not, if they are placed in my way, I have no choice but to fight them through. My goal is to fight against the strongest of the strong. Wrestle Extravaganza III. I wish I was in the first two.
I left my country for this united nation. I was glad that PCW is not a utopia. A land of warriors is what I am looking for. And my wish had been fulfilled. So much blood had been shed. 11 cards have been laid out on the table. A king, a queen and four jacks against each other in their pairs. Then there are two jokers that are being below them. The rest of them are the numbers.
Scars of Wrestling XIV. If I was in the previous 13, I would have experienced it. Unfortunately, I have just began the professional career after my late master passed away. A great man he was indeed. He would have wanted me to give it my all against these strong and fierce opponents. I do not care if this has any value or any other prestige. Competition is still a test of might. And I must prove that I am worthy of wrestling. This battle will be quite a challenge for me. Two legends and one fighter I have fought before in my way. Seems interesting.
These three wrestlers have shown a wide variety of skills before, I must say. They have accomplished many great things before. I am only a beginner while they have all the experience they have earned in this type of battlefield. February 16 of 2013 will be the night I will make my mark. If Atlanta watchers scream like they did at the Japanese restaurant, then it may definitely be difficult with a racket that extreme. However, it is definite that the tension in the air of the arena may be deadly. My fists are clenching right now. My fighting spirit is still growing. No matter who they are or what they do, I will still fight my way through. The competition is intense. These people I will be facing may overpower me. They are my targets and focuses for the night.
Bruce Hoffman. I had fought this man before. He symbolizes everything that represents an egomaniac. Arrogant, childish, hubris, overconfidence and irrational. He has shown these qualities last week as he piled up every insult he gave to me. He thought that he could easily defeat me with his own name against mine. He was very unfocused that every opponent he fights against will fall to his hand. And he was very sure that he will be victorious based on appearance. Was he correct?
No.
He was too vain and self-centered to think of his opponent's next moves. Blood does not make a victory for any fighter. Strength, skill and might are what makes an unstoppable man. Unfortunately, he only worships himself, thinking he's the god of war. If he continues to do so, then he may be destined to lose his soul. As I said before, berating me will not be a victory easily won. I warned him that words do not matter in a battle. Action is the way to go.
But he was blinded by his own vanity. He shows potential, but doesn't show it with all those flaws he has in the way. I have fought him once. Soon, I will be challenged against him. I hope he can change the error of his ways. Our last match had no accidents. This was all your doing. Hopefully he can fix it for our next battle. However, if you plan to improve yourself, I will as well.
Danielle Lopez. A legend in this promotion. She still has a lot of fighting spirit and the traits of a true warrior. A worthy adversary without any disgrace or scandal in her history. But she has said many things about me that I didn't quite catch. One, when have I used any "catchphrases" that only the shameful use? Two, why does she think my real life is a gimmick to all that can be joked about? Three, who is Sandman and what is ECW? Finally, why does she not believe that I am a man of my word? Are veterans this overconfident? It does not matter if I am boring or not. What only matters is the skill in the ring.
I had hoped that you would differ from Mr. Hoffman. However, I could see the arrogance in her voice. She is very lucky that she still has some genuinity in her soul. Not all that glitters in front of her is gold. She should at least know that. And what she said about her winning the Scars of Wrestling cup?? Here's my saying about her comments.
Know the enemy and know yourself.
She knows herself, but not her enemy, me. And about my personality? I do not just give respect to anyone I meet. They need to earn it until I am impressed with something. Accomplishments are not what I look for in respect. As she may not lead very well in example, due to the fact that she is a legend in PCW. But she knows about what is on my mind. She is one to be respected and mean well. Both her positive attitude and hard work is what makes a place like PCW stay alive. As well as dedication and loyalty to the spectators. This is what makes Danielle be herself. Because of that, she has my respect.
But...
Respect has to be set aside when we face each other in the ring. There are no allies to show respect to in the match we'll be placed in. We are all enemies aiming for an objective that can only be earned by one. Whether it is a friend or your blood sibling you are facing against, opponents will still be opponents. To her, it may be a tradition for her to uphold here. As for me, it is a test of skill and survival. But battle will not change the way I feel about her outside the ring. We are all the same but with unique personalities, traits, abilities and skills. We are here to give the audience a spectacular demonstration of our abilities. So I will have to thank her for both the comments and criticism about me. They have made me train myself to be stronger. I also wish her for a great match as well.
Draven Logan Kennedy. There is not much to say about him. All I know that he is a legend as well as Ms. Lopez. Hopefully I could see his appearance up and close as we are pitted against each other. It has been quite an enigma to me for a week. To be honest, I haven't seen much of him as of many other competitors. But I have heard that he has quite made a name for himself in PCW. There isn't anything to say about him, to be quite frank. But I am definite that he is a very strong fighter and I look forward to facing him. However, I've said this before and I'll say it again. Accomplishments do not mean anything to me. Whoever he is and whatever titles he hold, I have one thing to say. He has to bring it his all. Because he has yet to show me what he can do.
These three opponents are my targets. But which will be by top priority? Each of us have our own agenda. But we all have one goal set out on this match. And that is the Scars of Wrestling Cup. The cards have been set and we have yet to setup our moves. This fight is a gamble in which we need to depend ourselves to land the right dice. We may have different talents. But there is one thing we will show. A fight without any mercy. No holding back. And no conscience. There is no proof of either one of us winning this until Wrestle Extravaganza III. As I said it before, there are no words that mean anything at all in the ring. Nothing that any of us will say can change the outcome of what will come to us.
That is all I have to say.
Kami ga watashi o mimamoru koto ga arimasu.
