The following is a sitdown interview with James Baker, conducted by Monica Garcia.
Monica Garcia: I am here at this time with the CEO of Hardcore Enterprises, the man who owns the rights to Premium Championship Wrestling, James Baker. Welcome Mr. Baker.
James Baker: Pleasure to be here and please, call me James. That whole formal shit is weird to me, yo. Like for real, I ain't ever gon' get used to that.
Monica Garcia: It has been nearly seven months since PCW's closing. How did the talks of a reunion show start so soon?
James Baker: The thought process came about when Emily, who runs the official PCW Twitter account (and comes up with the tweets herself for the dumbasses who think otherwise), started taking everybody back down memory lane by recapping past PCW shows. She made #PCWWednesday into a thing which was pretty cool in my opinion. Once I read all the tweets, I thought about a reunion show and how good it would be for a lot of us to experience it again and go out in a better way because a lot of people are still pissed off about the stunt Morgan Simmons pulled at the end of Anarchy, myself included among the ones who are pissed.
Monica Garcia: The PCW Twitter account confirmed Tom Pendergrass would face disgraced former owner Terrell Ryder at the reunion show. Was this your idea?
James Baker: All day. This was supposed to have happened at Wrestle Extravaganza IV, but Terrell and Morgan put a stop to that. Everybody knows Terrell smacked him with a chair at Battle Finale III, and Tom hasn't gotten his deserved chance at Justice, so it's only fair I give him said opportunity. But I gotta tell ya, Tom ain't the only one who deserves revenge against the two headed idiotic monsters who killed the company. Oh hell naw. I remember a certain Reaper who was running wild as the Platinum Champion, was unceremoniously fired by Morgan Simmons because she was getting embarrassed constantly by countless members of the PCW roster. Not to mention Syn was breaking her emotionally with holding Dana hostage on that particular show, and Morgan had a massive emotional break down and practically gave Jay Thunder the belt much in the same way she did in the Broadcast Titie match at Struggle for Power III.
Monica Garcia: So what are you saying exactly?
James Baker: I'm saying Morgan Simmons will have to pay for her crimes as she'll go one on one with Reaper... in a Reaper's Rules Match. I mean, it's only fair and to be honest, it couldn't have happened to a nicer person.
Monica Garcia: What other matches do you think can happen?
James Baker: All depends on who agrees to appear on the show. I am aware that Mya Denton wants to face Smith Jones, but I am also exploring all options, such as Smith versus Stryker in a rematch from Struggle for Power III, or another contest against Brytain Rollins if the two of them are up for it after their hellacious contests in the past. You cannot pounce and make the first match up somebody requests. This is PCW, we only make thing that's interesting and we want to make the best matches possible for this reunion show.
Monica Garcia: Any progress on the long awaited dream match up between Hall of Famer's Danielle Lopez, Talia Skye and Heather Monroe?
James Baker: Our representatives have reached out to Miss Monroe... with no reply as of this moment. Once we get notification of a reply, we will let you know what's up. We do know both Danielle and Talia want the match to happen. If it doesn't, then a rematch of Battle Finale II would do just fine.
Monica Garcia: Any status updates on the likes of Syn, Kai, Yoshiru Long, Curtis Wilkes, Jerry Matthews, Draven Logan Kennedy and Israel Steele appearing on the PCW reunion show?
James Baker: Syn and Kai do things their way so it's 50/50 for them in my estimation. Yoshiru and Curtis' representatives have yet to get back to me at this time. Draven has said he would do it and I'm certain Izzy would as well.
We also have other possibilities for appearances such as Charlie Luzon, Jay Thunder, The Pac, Aaron and Nathan Warrens, and possibly Michael Morrison, Mariano Fernandez and Adrien Cochrane if they so wish to stop by for a cameo appearance or something they feel comfortable in doing.
Monica Garcia: Impressive list. You did mention the Warrens Brothers - what do you make of your friends from Da Xtreme Dynasty making a challenge to them for the Reunion show?
James Baker: I'd like to see it. The two greatest tag teams of PCW's first run squaring off? You can't tell me people wouldn't pay to watch that match. The only time they faced off was with the belts on the line and it was one of the greatest tag team matches in the history of PCW. Bottom line, I think they could top it at the reunion show with ease.
Monica Garcia: What do you expect from a show like this?
James Baker: A special gathering of those who truly loved PCW and genuinely want to be there. This show isn't about one particular person or anything selfish. It is about paying respect to the fans and the three beautiful bright yellow letters you all saw every single show we had in both runs.
Monica Garcia: Is there anything else planned?
James Baker: As we speak, Hardcore Recordz is producing two new PCW soundtrack albums, Volumes three and four. If you haven't bought the double disc second volume, or even our very first one, do so now. It will always be available to buy.
Monica Garcia: Any last words?
James Baker: Always keep a look out for PCW related news because you never know when we will have some for the public. We tend to come out of nowhere with important shit. Also continue spreading the word about the reunion show and keep watching professional wrestling and do it as a fan, not as a Monday-morning quarterback or as a bitter little bitch, or a combination of the two.
Monica Garcia: Thank you for your time James.
James Baker: No problem at all.
