From early August all the way up until Halloween week, CCP will be running it's 9th Annual Queen Of The Mountain Tournament as the lead in to it's first Televised iPPV Event, Girls Night Out IX. The invitations for competitors have been sent to management and board members from JPW, GFP/NPU, WWA, and SSWA already in preparation for the event. While the tournament has evolved over the last half decade, the formula still remains quite the same:
- It's a classic tournament of 32, with female competitors from all over the world competing in single elimination matches to advance to the next round.
- During the round of 16, "Wildcard Matches" may take place in which a competitor who has been previously eliminated can challenge a competitor in the tournament. If the eliminated competitor wins, the roles are reversed as she gains the other competitors spot.
- A new addition for this year, the Round of 8 will not take place on the iPPV, but on the final show before. The Semi-Finals and Finals, however, will remain on the card as the Co-Main Event to The Womens Title Match.
- The winner of the tournament will receive a Title Shot of their choosing, at a time and place of their choosing in the company that they represent while competing in the tournament (Ex: Mya Lopez could challenge any of WWA's titles at any time, Kyoko Kawashima for any title in CCP or JPW, Macy Dover for SSWA, and Ai for CCP or GFP/NPU, ect). This title opportunity will be good for one year.
There will be talks with each company in the hopes of featuring tournament matches on their programming, but measures have been taken in case they're unable to. The signups for each company ends on August 1st, and starts on the first CCP TV Episode right after our August iPPV, Breaking Point!
