OOC: I am in the airport, I had it formated but this internet is shit. Sorry
It was a funny thing, finding a partnership that worked out in this business. There were people that needed it, people that could live without it and people that eased into it. Heather Monroe eased into it. She knew she could make it in singles or in tag team action. Monroe had her fair share of tag team matches thus far but none outside of her match with Morrison had been with someone that she actually considered her ally. It had taken a bit of convincing on her part with Monroe knew that she could be a good tag team partner, she knew that if given the chance she could knock the division out of the water, much like she did with the broadcast division, but she would never have the chance with random tag team partners. So enter Heather Mackenzie. A woman that Monroe barely knew, but a woman that she knew could help her immensely in many different parts of her life.
Heather Mackenzie was well versed in how tag team action worked. Hell her entire career before now was based on a stable. The Solution. A group of four people dedicated to making the wrestling business a better place by solving all the problems caused by lesser talents. Not only was she apart of that with her boyfriend, Nick Slater and their friends Ezra Starr and Ashton West. But, her and Ashton made strides in the tag team area with Project Perfection. Mackenzie was certainly a team player when it came down to it. Of course she would only be a team player as long as you shared her views. That of course would be the first step for her. Getting Monroe to share her ideals. She was certainly on the right track at this point, mainly because Monroe didn't need much coaching. Mackenzie could tell when people were fed up and ready to move on and that was Monroe.
So the next step was simply to use that aggression that was clearly forming. Monroe had done a good job thus far of doing such a thing, that was proven by the many attacks that she had already done. At this point Monroe was simply trying to make a point. After Knockout it would be hard to ignore Monroe or Mackenzie or the clear bond that they were starting to form. A bond that would now be known as 'The Heathers'. It was clever in its own way. Mainly because who doesn't love a nice cult classic such as The Heathers. A movie about killing all the bitches of the world simply to gain a bit of momentum yourself. Of course in this story, the one that Mackenzie and Monroe would be writing, the bitches that are dying won't be the Heathers. It will be everyone else that steps in their way. And it didn't matter what their gender, how great they were or weren't. The Heathers were going to trample over everyone and they would make their way towards greatness as a tag team, like it or not.
Currently both Heathers were making their way through the city in order to sit down with a man named Adam Beben. He wasn't all that well known among the wrestling circuit but he was someone that knew a lot about wrestling and he loved what he did. Interviewing that is. He wrote a weekly column for a small newspaper in TOWN called sports weekly. There were people that dogged him for calling wrestling a sport, but if you even tried to argue with him you would never make it out alive. Mackenzie had known him for awhile, from her days way back when in WCW. Mackenzie had been interviewed by him numerous times and he always did her justice so she thought what better way to make their debut as a legit tag team than to be interviewed by a man that would make them larger than life.
"So you know this guy?" Monroe spoke as they made their way into a large building.
"Yeah, he's done some stuff for me before. Back in WCW with Nick, Ez, Ashton and me." Mackenzie nodded slightly. "He's a good guy." Mackenzie opened the door and Monroe walked through, Mackenzie following.
"I feel like it's been forever and a day since I actually did an interview with someone." Monroe tapped her chin hoping that it would help her remember.
"Well gear up because this is our debut as a tag team, I mean besides knockout of course." Mackenzie shrugged before pressing the elevator button. "I think this will be very interesting, people can see the dynamic and we can let the world know what we're here to do." Mackenzie nodded confidently. The elevator doors opened and they stepped inside. "Floor seven." Mackenzie said and Monroe reached over pressing the button.
"I am excited to finally get things rolling. This match we have coming up is bound to make us look good." Monroe grinned.
"Yeah, it'll be a breeze to get through, but it's exactly what we need to boost our egos and lower that of the rest of the roster." Mackenzie sent a grin back.
"I am just wondering why they even think those two would stand a chance against us. We're clearly superior compared to them." Monroe spoke with a cocky grin. The doors to the elevator opened up and the pair made their way out, Mackenzie leading.
"No one thinks those two are going to beat us. It's a given that we'll win. They just needed to give us someone that would make us look as strong as we really are. No one is going to be able to beat us." Mackenzie chuckled to herself. She opened up the door that led into a office area where many people were writing diligently.
"Where do we go from here?" Monroe looked to Mackenzie like a child. Mackenzie didn't speak she simply motioned for Monroe to follow her. They made their way to a back office, the door was wide open and a young looking man with shaggy hair sat inside typing away at his computer.
"Adam, you need a haircut." Mackenzie said as she walked through the door. Adam let off a smile as he looked towards her rising to his feet. He and Mackenzie hugged as she made her way behind his desk.
"How have you been Heather?" Adam sat back down as Mackenzie made her way back around the desk.
"I have been fair. Things are getting better though, as you probably know." Mackenzie nodded and Adam looked to Monroe.
"Heather Monroe?" Adam asked and Monroe nodded her head reaching forward to meet his handshake then sitting back in the chair across from him that she had made herself comfortable in. "I'm Adam Beben." He pointed to the small name plate that sat at the front of his desk and Monroe chuckled a bit.
"Heather has been telling me all about you." Monroe looked to Mackenzie with a nod.
"Hopefully not anything too bad." He smiled. "But, we're not really here to chit chat are we? We're here for a nice little interview. The first with The Heathers." Adam spoke as if he were an announcer.
"Don't you feel just soooo special?" Mackenzie laughed to herself and Adam nodded.
"When THEE Heather Mackenzie calls me up and says 'you want an interview' I can't say no. I have to say though that I'm sorry I wasn't the one to ask you. I've been following PCW and I was actually going to call you about it, but I ended up getting tied up with the stuff they actually want me to write." Adam rolled his eyes.
"Glad I could help you out." Mackenzie smiled.
"Anyways, shall we get started then?" Adam asked and both women nodded their heads. He pulled a tape recorder out of his desk and set it on top pressing record in the process. "Alright, Adam Beben here with two of PCW's brightest female competitors, Heather Monroe and Heather Mackenzie, now known as 'The Heathers'. I presume that this is because of the 1988 cult classic of the same name?" Adam looked to Mackenzie.
"Well that was definitely part of it. It helps that's our real names." Mackenzie chuckled. "But really, that is what we were going for. The girls in Heathers were girls that knew what they wanted and did whatever they could to get that thing. That's us, you know without the death and self loathing attitude." Mackenzie shrugged looking to Monroe for anything else.
"Yeah, we wanted to let people know that we were not going to be playing nice." Monroe nodded. "Although I think we made that apparent with our actions on Knockout rather than our name, but anyway we can make it happen, I'll take." Monroe chuckled.
"Speaking of which, do you worry with all these attacks how people will end up seeing you? As in looking at you like cowards?" Monroe grinned.
"The people that call us cowards are hypocrites. Attacking someone isn't cowardly, it's a way of sending a message. There are too many people in this business that try and get away with bullshit like that but I'm not going to play into it and neither is Heather. We did what we did to send a message and that message was loud and clear to those that received it." Monroe nodded her head. "Ask anyone that it happened to, find out if they've forgotten, if they've healed. What Heather and I are doing it vital to our existence. Making an impact is something that we have to do because in order to spread a message you have to have all the attention on you." Monroe grinned.
"So you think now all eyes are on you?" Adam said in an almost condescending tone. Mackenzie chuckled at the question.
"Of course all eyes are on us. If they weren't then people would have to be blind, or just plain stupid. It's obvious that we're a threat, those that act as if we aren't are simply kidding themselves. And, I have to be honest, I hate those that try to talk themselves out of how great others are simply because they can't cope with the fact that they're not as good. Heather and I know what we're doing. We are capable of complete domination in this company and we'll show that this week on Rapture." Mackenzie nodded with confidence.
"Yes, your first match as a tag team. You guys go up against Asalto a Luchadores or Jose Tormenta and Mateo Furia. How do you think you'll fair?" Adam looked to Monroe.
"Well at this point it's obvious. Heather and I are extremely confident, but we aren't cocky because we want to be, we're cocky because we're good. I don't think that these guys know what they have coming at them. Which is probably why they haven't spoken out yet. But, I can tell you that the Heathers are going to be big news for the tag team division and it starts this weekend." Monroe nods.
"Exactly. Not to mention Heather and I have NO CLUE who these people are. So even though it'll be a bit of a wild card, I know that with our abilities we'll be able to do anything. Those guys have no idea what they're in for." Mackenzie let a cozy grin spread on her face.
"Alright, well good luck to both of you as you start your tag team, I'm sure you'll kick ass." Adam nodded his head and stopped the tape recorder.
