*We are at a local bar in Milwaukee Wisconsin. Jay Miller and Brother Mike had just returned home after a victorious debut at PCW’s Saturday Night Rapture. Jay Miller had faced Liam Reilly, a new comer just like Jay, and Johnny Scumm a contender for the PCW Brawl Championship. It was a very close match, went back and forth, and Jay took quite a beating. In the end Jay come out with his hand raised, and impressing many fans along the way. That brings us here to the “Cozy Bar” around downtown Milwaukee. This is Jay and Mike’s regular place they go to, every Thursday night they perform here on the ‘regulars’ request for about an hour or so. They just got back on the plane and thought it would be nice to come celebrate Jay’s victorious debut. Jay is wearing a black bandanna with a little white decorated, his favorite John Lennon NYC shirt, black jeans with his black lugz. Mike is wearing a backwards baby blue Milwaukee Brewers hat, his white throw back Ryan Braun jersey with blue jean shorts and a pair or Jordan shoes. They go up to the bar and order a Miller Lite each. As they pay for their beer they take a seat at the booth in the corner towards the stage, decently crowded for a Saturday night. As they made their way to the booth, Jay was greeted by some acquaintances being congratulated on his victory.*
“What a night! Man I feel born again, it’s almost like I have been here for years maybe more. Nothing was going my way in that ring tonight, but yet again everything went my way. Strange situation ya know?” Jay says with a slight smile on his face.
“Yeah I here you bro. You looked good out there tonight, I’m sure you surprised a lot of people. From what I heard backstage before and after? You did prove a lot, even though it was your first match at PCW. You faced a new guy in Liam Reilly, who was expected to come out on top with this match, and a contender for the PCW Brawl Title Johnny Scumm. He did seem like a handful from the start, not going to talk down about his performance at all because he was damn good. After watching the first couple minutes of that match, it was anybody’s game” Mike comments.
“I know I know. I thought Johnny was all talk from the start, especially after what he said promoting his so called victory” Jay replies with a laugh taking a drink from his beer. “But I have to give the guy credit, he did put up one hell of a fight. Along with Reilly, that guy will have some potential in the future here. I am not trying to predict the future or anything like Johnny, but damn Reilly knew what he was doing. I could’ve lost that match about four or five times, I saved myself a couple times and got lucky once or twice” Jay replies before getting cut off by Mike.
“There is no such thing as luck Jay. No such thing, it’s all or nothing. You went in the ring tonight proving many things. Not that you just had a victory in your debut match, not that you are a ‘lucky’ rookie.. But you proved to a lot of people that you do have talent, considering your nickname you got over the years. You proved that you can defy the odds, put on a good show, use your brain inside that ring instead of just using your muscle. Most athletes will walk in that ring thinking size is the ultimate advantage, their dead wrong. Your smarts are what will get you the victory, smarts and execution. You proved quite a bit tonight, and now? You’re going to have another shot to prove those smarts a Slamathon this coming Sunday. Now we don’t know to much about SJ Funk, but from what I found out he is much loved in this business. He has paid his dues, and done a hell of a lot around here. Yes, you did quite a bit tonight in that Triple Threat Match, but SJ Funk is more than a triple threat. He is for real, and you will be put to the test Jay. I hope you saved some moves and shit for Slamathon, because your going to have to bring your A game!” Mike says almost attacking Jay with words.
“Yeah I know. It really built up my confidence with this whole situation just seeing him come walking out after my match. I was expecting a raise of the hand, a little ovation from the crowd then heading backstage. I had no idea at all who he was, hell I had no idea about anything. I wasn’t sure if I was getting jumped or what! But once I heard he ovation and saw the look and expression on the announcers face? I knew it was something big. And for this guy to come out and challenge me, what was I suppose to do turn it down? Ha, I would never back down from a challenge” Jay says with a chuckle. “I did get a little excited, but yet again a little down once I heard the bad news about Randy Savage. So sad, I couldn’t believe it when I heard it. A true legend in Randy Savage passing away into the good Lord’s hands. Once I heard that news I could think about nothing else than performing to the best of my ability. Give him a good show while he was probably watching every match from every business there is from above.”
“Right.. I couldn’t believe it either bro. Everybody’s always expects superstars, famous people, musicians and so on to outlive themselves, and their age. But when you get called to heaven’s home you have to go. There is no turning back and no backing down. Even though he is gone, his spirit and memories will always be here. That is something you can’t take away from a true legend. Randy Savage will never die… OOOOHHHH YYEEEAAHHH!” Mike says raising his beer in the air, then tapping Jay’s to a toast to the legend Randy Savage.
As Jay and Mike finish their beer, a man walks up to the table offering to buy them a shot of Jack, they both agree. The man walks up to the bar and grabs three shots of Jack Daniels, he sets them on the table and heads back to the bar and gets three more.
“What in the hell are you trying to pull my friend?” Jay says with a little sarcasm.
“It’s all in good fun Jay, just wanted to have a little part of your victory tonight and take a couple down with ya” the man says in good spirits grabbing both shots, one in each hand.
“I’m not going to complain about that” Mike replies.
The three of them tap the table, tap their glasses in the left hand and take one down, quickly following with the other doing the same process.
“Well thanks again man, greatly appreciated. We’ll buy you one on our way out and return the favor” Jay says respectfully.
“Don’t even worry about I am not expecting anything in return” the man replies. “Have a good night you guys get home safely!” the man says shaking their hands, then going off in the distance.
“He acts like we never drank before!” Jay says with a loud laughter followed by Mike. “We only live in Wisconsin.”
“Whether he likes it or not we’re buying him one on our way out. Always have to return the favor” Mike says.
“He probably won’t even remember, he seemed a little toasty” Jay replies.
Jay and Mike get up and begin to exit Cozy Bar. They walk up to the door and throw a ten on the bar pointing out the man who bought them drinks. As they leave the bar the people that know them well congratulate Jay again making their good byes. As they leave they hop into their limo and head towards home.
**End of the Celebration** [End of Part 1][/u]
*We are at ‘Tough Mans Gym” in Milwaukee Wisconsin. It is a beautiful Sunday afternoon in Milwaukee, even though there is expected rain and hail to be on the way. Mike is training and preparing Jay for his bout this coming weekend at Slamathon against SJ Funk. They did a little homework on Funk and discovered this is going to be one hell of a match. With all the grits eggs and bacon Funk has in his past, Jay better be bringing more than his A game. As the camera walks through the gym we see there are not to many people here today. Jay is just getting off the treadmill as we found him. Mike is over by the weight bench getting things prepared for Jay. Mike is wearing a white tank top with black Nike shorts, and black Nike shoes. Jay is wearing a black bandanna, no shirt with white under armor shorts, with white under armor shoes. *
“That’s good bro, you have to get that endurance built up for your match. Not saying you are not durable but you gotta be prepared for anything. Let’s hit the weights and work on your upper body” Mike says to Jay being his coach.
Jay hits the bench bracing himself, taking deep breaths in and out preparing to lift. Mike put 250 on the bench to start off with. Jay grabs the bar and begins lifting, Mike counting his repetitions. Jay gets ten down without a problem.
“Let’s go up to 275, ending the third set on three hundred. Not looking to build, looking to keep your body toned and built in shape at a normal rate. Don’t want to stress anything or try building more. Ready?”
Jay nods as Mike puts 275 on the bar. Jay once again braces himself and begins lifting. Mike begins counting as Jay repeats the process. As he gets to his 9th rep, he shows a slight struggle to bring the bar up, but he is successful.
“Can you do 300?” Mike asks Jay, he quickly nods. “Alright, let’s get it up then bro.”
Mike adds on to 300 on the bar. Jay sits up quickly, rolling his neck and arms loosing up a little bit. Jay starts off taking his time, he gets up to his 7th rep and begins struggling. He gets two more in and sets the bar back up.
“I’m feeling the burn Mike, don’t want to build the strength I just want to keep it toned man” Jay says being very exhausted.
“It’s fine bro. I think that is enough work out for today we been here a couple hours already. Hit the shower if you want, if not oh well. I got to make a couple phone calls to find out a little bit more on SJ Funk” Mike says rushing off into he office.
Jay heads toward the locker room and just runs his head under hot water along with his shoulders. He dries off and heads back out into the gym. After a couple minutes of waiting Mike comes out of the office.
“You’re going to have your hands full this weekend bro. This is not going to be an easy match. But take that as motivation. You have the talent to take on anybody, you have the agility, quickness, and the strength. You just got to use your tactics wisely and not over do things. Use your intelligence in the ring this weekend Jay. Make sure you are always one step ahead of everything. You do have experience in the ring I'll give you that, but SJ Funk has been around many business and around many talented athletes just like yourself. If you come out the winner in this match Jay it could bring many big things to your future with the PCW. This is your biggest test even though it's only your second match. You looked very well in condition from the start, and now you got to take everything to your full advantage" Mike says with a firm voice noting him taking this conversation very seriously.
"I know Mike. I apprecaite your words of advice. I couldn't have got this far if it wasn't for you. You know some people might be looking at this as a David and Goliath battle where I wouldn't stand a chance. But yet again, I was out and away from this business for a few years. SJ Funk was away for a few months so he himself could be a little rusty. But I don't want to come into this match with that attitude, but maybe it could be a slight advantage. He seemed very impressed with what I accomplished in my Triple Threat Match against Liem Reilly and Johnny Scumm. Johnny was on a hot streak for quite sometime and I put that to an end. This is going to be one hell of a fight and nobody can predict what will happen. I know it's going to one of the toughest fights of my career. The toughest I ever had was facing Asylum in the IHWA for the United States title, I did come out the winner but damn it was not easy. His record was 124 victories to 8 losses, and I handed him two of his losses, you handing him one. I know I can take on anybody who steps into that ring with me Mike. I know I can, I have never backed down from any challenge, never been afraid to step inside that ring with anybody. My victory could set many trails ahead for much success here in the PCW. Even though many titles are on the line at Slamathon? I think this is going to be the most watched bout since it's SJ Funk's return. Everybody is gonna want to see the new guy take on the legend. I want to break out of this new guy character, and if I get a victory over SJ Funk? I believe that will shatter all doubts with everybody in the locker room, and with the staff. My confidence level went up a whole hell of alot after winning that Triple Threat Match, thought that was going to a tough fight but damn, this weekend is going to be even tougher. SJ Funk, I am very well pleased that you chose to challenge me. From everything I found out about you? I couldn't be any happier having my first Pay Per View match against you, a true legend of this business. Hell that was a very warm feeling that you were impressed with my tactics in the ring. That means alot to me SJ, it really does. I hope that when we step into that ring at Slamathon there won't be any cheap shots taking, or any weasel ways around getting a victory. I don't know how well you know me, but I like to keep things fair and square inside that ring. Let our athletic talent get the victory for you or myself. That's a true sportsman, keep it fair in the square if you catch my drift SJ. I am delighted that you chose me to have your return match at Slamathon. I am sure I'll even learn a thing or two from you at our match" Jay says with a very respectful tone.
"Well brother, we should hit the road and get back home. We got some music to play" Mike says with a smile.
"Coulnd't agree more bro. Let's get outta here" Jay says grabbing his duffle back.
Jay and Mike head out the door and get into their car. They drive off into the Milwaukee streets heading home.
END OF PART II[/u]
*We are in Memphis Tennessee, the home of PCW’s Slamathon ll. It’s set to be one hell of a show! We are at a hotel in Memphis where Jay Miller is staying awaiting the arrival of the Pay Per View. As stated earlier Jay is preparing for what could be the jump start to his career in PCW. The cameras begin to roll as we walk through the front door into the lobby. Music is playing in the background as we see someone sitting on the chair with an acoustic guitar, and it’s none other than Jay Miller. It’s early in the evening, just about to dark as Jay has a couple people standing outside the bar door listening and enjoying the music he is playing. Nothing particular, not a cover song, just something Jay is playing out of his mind and heart. He notices the camera crew walking into the building and gives them a slight nod to come over. A couple minutes pass by as Jay finishes his jam. He has a drink sitting on the table in front of him which appears to be a White Russian, Jay’s favorite drink. He sets his guitar down beside him on the side of the lobby chair. He takes a drink from his vodka and kaluah mixture. He is wearing a Slamathon hat, a black t-shirt that says “Marriage is the leading cause of divorce”, and black jean shorts with sport sandals. He waits a few moments for the camera crew to finalize their preparations. As he waits Mike comes walking from the bar area and sits to join Jay. Mike is wearing a white tank top with black Nike shorts and shoes.*
“I just heard some tragic news bro” Mike says in great despair.
“What’s that?” Jay asks with much concern.
“Nathan Warrens, his mother was shot by a low life dirty thief. Just heard about it a few minutes ago” Mike says gasping for his breath as he breaks the news.
“Shut the hell up, are you serious Mike?” Jay says almost with anger.
“Would I kid around about something like this man? Dead serious I just got a phone call. Made me think about mom and dad to be honest” Mike says lowering his head.
“Wow.. I am at loss of words. My prayers are with him and his family. I know I don’t know Nathan Warrens well at all, but still. We’re family in this business no matter what anybody says, death is no joke at all. Nathan if you are listening or watching this, I am truly sorry for your loss. I lost my mother many years ago man and I think about it everyday. If you don’t mind me giving a little advice, let the memories replace the tragedy. I’m sure you have plenty of memories to last a lifetime instead of that one tragic incident. Keep your head up brother” Jay says raising his drink in the air out of respect for the recent news.
“Is your guitar in tune?” Mike asks.
“Yes why? I literally just set it down before you came walking out of the bar.”
“Nathan’s mother had a favorite song that was played at the funeral. I know you can play this one Jay.. That song would be Blackbird by the Beatles” Mike says in all seriousness.
Jay does not hesitate to pick his guitar up. “Nathan, I’ll play this one for you brother” Jay says nodding his head to the camera. He sets his guitar pick down ready to play Blackbird, one of he very first songs he learned how to play many years ago, actually his first song he learned how to finger pick.
Jay starts off “Blackbird” with that simple but beautiful riff of guitar. Mike joins along by singing the words to the song, Jay cracks a smile as he was about to start singing…… As they come to and end, Jay adds on a little bluesy sounding solo that fits the song nicely.
“I’m confident that you’ll hold on strong Nathan, through every dark night a bright day will follow my friend” Jay says hanging his head with a moment of silence.
“Not a good way to walk into this weekend, let’s hope Nathan can take advantage of this situation and retain the Tag Team Titles. I’m sure he’ll be on top of his game” Mike replies.
“This is set to be one hell of a show man, for real with the events that had occurred, and the events that are going to occur? I hope the Fed Ex Forum is sold out, I am going to shit myself if it’s not” Jay says still in a minor shock.
“It will be. Everybody wants to see titles change hands, and see superstars born. That superstar could be you Jay. It all depends on how bad you want it” Mike says with a dead stare in his eye.
“I know Mike, I know. I feel like Rocky Balboa stepping in the ring with Apollo Creed. I am the unknown, but not unheard of fighter going toe to toe with a well known, well trained, and superior opponent in SJ Funk. As the time gets closer to meet him in the ring, I grow stronger physically, mentally, and even spiritually. I even day dream about this fight zoning off into a different world. For real this is huge, I can’t even explain how it is. All I know is that at Slamathon, I am going to make sure damn that in the end my hand will be raised in victory. Funk already had his fame, fortune and popularity set with this business. It’s been awhile since he has stepped foot inside that ring, I’m sure he’ll be prepared for this fight and have a good head on his shoulders.. But I want this more than he does. He may have something to prove, but I have a hell of a lot more to prove to myself, PCW, and even you Funk. Like I said before I will walk into that ring with all respect for the wrestling business. This is the last you’re going to hear from me, so I am going to make things clear to you. I am hungry SJ, I am a fiend for the high of success right now. I want this victory more than a drug addict wanting his next fix. Although we have many similarities coming into this match, my reasons are very different. You and I haven’t been in the ring as of much in the past, but yet again I just got a nice warm up match on Rapture. Getting back in the groove once again I feel very good about Slamathon. I have my edge back and there is no way in hell I am going to let that slip away. This is Jay Miller’s turn to get his start to success here in PCW. You have done a whole manor of things, had much success and shown the world what you can do, now it’s my turn. Just when you think you may have the match won? If it gets that way, make damn sure SJ. You better double check because I am not going down easy, you better make sure I am barely breathing and not moving a muscle, because I will not surrender. A victory over you will pave the way to many opportunities in the future. I am not saying any of this to be cocky or trying to be a prick, but I want this more than you SJ. You may think this is your comeback and everything will be all good because you have fame, but that will not matter. Don’t underestimate my ability. Don’t underestimate anything. Even though no title is on the line, there is. This is the title to the start of my loooonnnnggg PCW career, from jobber to the show topper! I’m sorry SJ but this is one show you will not be stealing my friend. Good luck to you brother. Just so ya know, in case you have been away from the ring for to long? My brother Mike will be at ringside with a pen and pad for you, because you will get your own definition of talent!”
*Jay finishes his drink and heads to the elevator seeming very worked up. Mike grabs his guitar and rushes up to Jay to hand it to him. Jay heads into the elevator assumingly going back to his room. Mike scratches his head and walks back into the bar. The camera’s slowly fade to black with the lenses on the hotel lobby.*
