“Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.”-Quote.
{I haven’t slept at all lately. What with all the talk about the Rapture coming (not the show). Not to mention the thought of a man coming back from my past to take me out of the PCW forever still weighs heavily on my mind. I couldn’t bring myself to talk last week. It was only by the insistence of Yoshiru that I managed to get out of my comfort out into the open for all the lowlifes cheering for some miracle as the Heathers, Yoshiru and I kicked the crap out of the non believers. Leaving them in a pile of crumpled skin and bones. While this was all well and good to me. There was something else on my mind rather than the destruction I was dishing out.
It’s a thing called destiny.
For months and months. While many tried and failed. I had to sit back and be disgusted by the mediocrity of the PCW superstars. Who tried and failed to dethrone the current champion, not to mention my brother in arms, Yoshiru Long. All the big words, all the hype amounting to a big fat disaster. Mariano, Leon, Night train. All of them failed. While I busted my ass to get a shot at the world title. Only I got told, that I was irrelevant. That I didn’t have what it took to become a superstar anymore. That my glory days were over and I should be helping the younger generation. To those people I said, fuck you. I have a destiny that is yet to be fulfilled.
But unlike those around me in the past. When destiny is in reach. I will not let it slip through my fingers. No disrespect intended to my brother in arms. But it is my time to grab the gold ring and run with it. Not only do I want it, I crave it like a drug addicts drug of choice. That belt is what every person who is in the PCW ultimately wants.
And if you don’t have that as your destiny. Then what the hell are you doing in the PCW to begin with?}
[/i]
(It’s several hours after Rapture. Where once again The Elite seemed to get the upper hand on it’s stranglehold with the PCW. With the Heathers, joining the fold of the Elite. The question though on everyone’s mind is what’s going to happen now. With the figure heads of the Elite facing each other. Sickboy versus the World Heavyweight Champion Yoshiru Long in a much anticipated match for the ages. Many wonder if after they fight, will the Elite be strong as it is now or will it lead to some cracks within the foundations of the Elite?
We then see the man who is going to be part of the main event and tipped as a heavy favorite to possibly overthrow Yoshiru Long as the top dog in the PCW. His name is Curtis Wilkes, AKA Sickboy. A man that up until now, has been the most loyal ally of Yoshiru. Now he is in conflict. Does he lay down and let the leader take the win? Or does he fight for all that he’s got to win the title. As he walks up to a taxi waiting for him, he places his gear bag into the back seat before getting in himself.)
Driver: Where to?
Sickboy: Airport.
Driver: No problems.
(A little while later, Sickboy arrives at the airport where his wife Emma and his best friend Len are waiting out the front. As soon as Sickboy pulls out his bag from the vehicle before walking up to his two associates.)
Len: Six days Curtis.
Sickboy: Yeah, six days and counting.
Emma: Don’t worry, I think you’ll be more than prepared.
Sickboy: Will I be though? After all, I am facing a man who is my brother in arms. A fellow member of Elite. He knows me more than I know him. I don’t know if I can fight the man. You know with all my morals.
Len: Well, fuck morals then.
Emma: This coming from a lawyer Curtis.
Sickboy: I know. Bit of an insight into you Len.
Len: Hey, I’m not a lawyer twenty four hours a day. Seven days a week. So shut it.
(The three of them proceed to walk inside the airport. After checking in, security and bag checks. They then head off to to one of the lounges to have a bit of relaxation before their flight leaves.)
Emma: When was the last time you held a title Curtis?
Sickboy: November, if I remember correctly. Platinum title and I lost it to Israel Steele after he beat me to a bloody pulp. Ever since then I have been fighting tooth and nail to get a title shot. To get a chance to fulfil my destiny since coming back. I did everything in order to get this shot.
Emma: Not to mention beating all the number one contenders that Yoshiru eventually beat anyway.
Sickboy: That is true. Mariano got a shot before me. I wiped him out. Leon, done and dusted. SJ Funk? Too gutless to face Yoshiru, so he got himself disqualified. Night train? Couldn’t get the job done in the two opportunities given to him. So who is left that is credible? The one and only that is being filmed right now.
Len: And you do have a win against him as well in the past.
Sickboy: That I do. The thing is though, he had only just won the championship. He still had champions nerves. Now with a whole lot of momentum behind him it’s going to be tough to get a win this time.
Emma: You never know though.
Sickboy: That’s right, I don’t know. Nobody knows their destiny before certain things happen. The people who died in the twin towers didn’t know that their destiny would be snuffed out in a flash. The Marines didn’t know what to expect when they faced the man formerly known as Osama Bin Laden. What I mean to say is. Is someone’s destiny is always unknown, even if you do anything and everything to guide your destiny.
Len: So do you believe that your destiny will be fulfilled on the day of Slamathon?
Sickboy: It depends.
Emma: On what?
Sickboy: If the time is right for the destiny to be fulfilled. Only at Slamathon will it be revealed.
Emma: I do know one thing and that is that we both believe in you.
Len: And we know that this Saturday, you will be the champ.
(Sickboy smiles before speaking.)
Sickboy: With the support you guys give me. I somehow think. That this destiny could be in reach for me. Thank you.
And thank you to all the doubters already coming out of the woodwork like termites. Saying ‘I can’t beat Long’. ‘Long is on a roll’. ‘Sickboy is going to be destroyed’. Oh ye of little faith you have in me people. Can you not see that this is the time that everything comes full circle? Back in January I came back with one thing in mind, just one thing. That was being the World Heavyweight champion. Yet time after time I had to scrape, claw, pull and crawl my way to getting recognized by the big wigs. While others. Who merely bitched and moaned got ahead of me for a shot at the title. Mariano, Leon, Night train. All pretenders who crumbled when the pressure was put upon their broad shoulders. They. They’re the ones saying I’ll be just the same in being beaten by Yoshiru. Jealousy has always been a bitch boys. You’re jealous that I am now getting what I deserve. Not to mention jealous that the Elite has made all of you look average.
Now with that out of the way. Let me talk to the man who is the current PCW World Champion. Yoshiru Long.
Long, you my friend took me under your wing when nobody else would. After I was considered a damaged product from the CWF. You trusted me when nobody else did. After Mariano abandoned me with his constant denials of my collusion with him. Many people think that you’re the lowest of the low and in some cases they may be right. But the fact of the matter is that through it all. You have the belt still firmly in your possession, in the grasps of the Elite. Now while you’re the champ, many may consider that the whole of the Elite as the champs. That....That I don’t agree with. It is you that holds the belt only. Something that while it makes me happy that the Elite holds the crown jewel. It makes me bitter that until now, you have not faced a real opponent. A man that can push you like no other. A man that can at any moment dethrone you as the champ.
That’s the stop that my destiny has come to.
You can see my dilemma can’t you Yoshiru. I have to choose between loyalty or glory. Friendship or progression. Although for too long. I have had to take a back seat to many people. Long ago I was complacent, in the IOA when I had to forefit the World title back then due to injury. You know how long it took for me to get it back my friend. Nearly eight months due to my complacency, politics and egos running the show. I had the likes of Reinhardt, Z-Pac, Will Uncanny and of course that son of a bitch Rusty Miller picking their spots whenever they pleased, while I busted my ass night in, night out. Only when I chose to control my destiny in screwing Reinhardt did I get the shot I wanted. A few weeks later, my dynasty was snuffed out by Blairski and the IOA died. Same thing happened in the CWF. I got complacent and then finally when I won the World title it was over.
But for some reason my destiny didn’t exist.
Upon doing some research I found out that for some reason my name was erased as the final World champion of the CWF or SCW. Instead it was your name on the list as the last champion. To think I trusted your businessman Greg Jackson with my career and he had the gall to wipe me off the records to put your name on the list as the last ever champion. So I came to the PCW to rectify it. Now my destiny has brought me to this week. Facing you. The man who’s business partner had my name wiped off the board as being a world champ. That is unacceptable Yoshiru and you know it in your heart to be true. That is why week after week I have busted my ass to get to where I am now to get that title.
My destiny is going to unfold before your eyes right in front of you at Slamathon II
Yoshiru Long. You maybe my ally. You may be the one who took me under your wing for guidance and you may be the champ. But as your honest and best friend at the moment, I want your title on my shoulder. I want to be finally at the controls of a ship that isn’t going to sink for a long time. I want to be the one who runs with the torch, who holds the ball and all those other power cliches. Now we may be allies fighting for the greater good of this company, for the people who believe in our cause. But you must put that aside as I won’t pull any punches, something I hope you won’t do either. At Slamathon II. We are going to fight and put on one hell of a show. Which at the end we will prove that we are both “Better than the rest”. But ultimately I will prove to you Yoshiru. When I hold that world title above my head that I am “Better Than You”.
When I finally fulfill my destiny.
