Derek Jacobs is in pain.
After the attack on his knee at the hands of Draven Logan Kennedy and his followers, Derek is definitely walking a little lighter these days.
Derek Jacobs is used to feeling pain. It's all a part of the job when you spend most of your adult life shoving your fist down other people's throats for a living. Mostly though, Derek is feeling another emotion.
Hate.
Derek Jacobs isn't a good guy. He's never claimed to be. If he isn't kicking someone's ass, he's the most miserable son of a bitch on the planet.
But the hate he feels towards DLK? This is different.
When Derek Jacobs saved Mya Denton on Insanity all those months ago, he didn't do it because he wanted to be the good guy, he didn't do it because it was the right thing to do, he did it because it reminded him of the past.
His past.
And now, DLK is helpless at the feet of Dr. Pain. Sure, he may think that he has the upper hand, but let's face it:
Draven Logan Kennedy just isn't the same man anymore.
When Derek took the weed-eater to the back of his lackey, his best friend, he saw something that used to never be seen in Kennedy's eyes.
Derek saw fear.
At Battle Finale, the mind games end, the talk is over. Derek Jacobs stands across the ring from a man whose career he's been obsessed with ending. He stands across from a man whose life he wants to see in ruins, and at Battle Finale, the end, the apocalypse is truly here.
For Draven Logan Kennedy.
And there's not a damn thing he can do about it.
And you can bank....on.....that.
