Introduction
It didn’t take long for God’s resident broadsword to make an impact in his first match since being charred to a crisp by Team Lethality’s Aurora Rose. The lecherous whore who had decided to seek revenge for what in past times would be declared one of the greatest honors anyone could receive: that of being sacrificed to the Lord the Most High God. She had decided that it was right to fight fire with fire, literally of course, and now the fine Reverend Matthews would forever bear scars that would always serve as a reminder of the ever volatile nature of the war he was fighting in humanity’s stead. But, these scars, hidden underneath a mask, aren’t things that will be remembered for the pain they caused. Rather, they would serve as a reminder of the honor it was to fight on the frontline against sinners anywhere and everywhere. Not so bad for the only son of a coal miner from Birmingham, Alabama.
But, while Aurora Rose had been dispatched, and had experienced quite the fierce fall from grace, she only served as a temporary distraction in combating the ultimate evil of Premium Championship Wrestling: the autistic dark magician Ryan “The Reaper” Robinson. This man and the woman he worships, “The Lethal Latina” herself, Danielle Lopez, chose to resort to tactics normally reserved for the baddest of the bad, in kidnapping newly named Assistant to the GM, Jimmy Gambino, and using the resulting leverage to gain title matches. Now, it would seem that the shoe is on the other foot. While their reputations haven’t sunk at all in the eyes of the great majority of the PCW faithful, unfortunately for both Danielle and Ryan, someone much more important has been watching. God the Father himself, and needless to say, the creator of all things heaven and earth is not pleased. And, in order to exact revenge for the weak and downtrodden, i.e. Jimmy Gambino, he has chosen to dispatch his most loyal servant in all of professional wrestling, “The Evangelist” Jerry Matthews, to enforce his will yet again. But, this time, it comes on of the biggest stages the company can offer, in the main event of the Saturday Night Rapture preceding Slamathon IV, the biggest pay-per-view telecast of the summer season. With the help of the ironically named World Heavyweight Champion himself, Syn, the bell is tolling for the leaders of Team Lethality. And vengeance must be had. Otherwise, who else will stand in the way of Team Lethality’s reign of terror?

Scene 1 – Dream Sequence, Jerusalem, Israel
The scene opens to a rather quaint and humble room on the second floor of an inn in ancient downtown Jerusalem. It seems as if the room has been situated for a dinner, and the room is full of occupants, fourteen to be exact. Thirteen are male, and eleven of them are wearing the traditional attire of the time, tunics and leather sandals. The other men are not attired at all like the rest, and after a close look it can be seen that the Reverend Jerry Matthews and Deacon Jeremiah Robinson can stick out like sore thumbs in any time period. Matthews is wearing a white cotton suit and his face is adorned with the mask that still conceals his facial scarring from the eyes of the public. Jeremiah is wearing a black suit, and has his sunglasses on.
Matthews motions to the room’s occupants, signaling that they should sit down for the meal that has been provided for them. Upon reaching their seats, the large party discovers a very lavish feast of lamb, rice, and several loaves of fresh bread.
Matthews: Brothers and sister, thank you all for joining me tonight. It has always been a pleasure to break bread with all of you, but, unfortunately, I fear that this may be one of the last of such occasions.
The rest of the dinner table, including Deacon Jeremiah, begin to murmur in confusion.
Jeremiah: Reverend, what in the Lord’s name are you talking about?
Matthews grabs Jeremiah’s right hand and gives him an answer.
Matthews: Jeremiah, I think that this is news that is best shared for after dinner. I hate to leave a storm cloud like this looming, but I feel that I would definitely be able to better deliver it if I’m not on an empty stomach.
Jeremiah nods in understanding. He then pulls away from the pastor, and reaches towards the table. He begins to pass a plate of lamb around, and the dinner party proceeds in silence. There is no conversation at all for around a half hour, and the dinner courses are consumed for the most part. At the end of dinner, Matthews stands up and begins to address the dinner party.
Matthews: I sincerely apologize for dropping that news on you so abruptly before we had the pleasure of enjoying that fine feast. But, what I am about to tell you is something that has grown to be quite the burden.
Matthews begins to shed a line of tears from his right eye. He brings his right hand up and wipes the stream away before he continues.
Matthews: You see, friends, it has been foretold to me through visions from God the Father that my time here on this earth may soon be drawing to a close.
Many of the members of the dinner party sit there in silence. The man sitting directly to Matthews’ left seems to be relatively unaware that his jaw has dropped.
Matthews: Now, Jeremiah, unfortunately, I have been made aware that you will play quite the role in what will happen later on tonight. For, you see, after dinner, you and I will head to a nearby garden, where I will have one of my final moments of meaningful prayer with the Father. I will ask you to simply stand guard and watch out for our enemies. But, brother….
More tears begin to flow down Matthews’ cheeks.
Matthews: You will be overcome by a state of extreme exhaustion, and you will pass out. As you do so, our enemies will arrive, and they will take me captive. Whatever happens next, however…
Matthews begins to shake, showing his uneasiness.
Matthews: Is only for the Father to know.
Jeremiah remains stone cold silent, definitely shocked to hear that he will fail to stop the ultimate betrayal of his spiritual mentor due to an inner, uncontrollable moment of weakness. He simply gets up, and leaves the room, slamming the door hard as he does so. Matthews begins again, shouting this time…
Matthews: BUT, even the failure of my spiritual brother does not compare to the heinous act of betrayal that will be committed by none other than you!!!
He points at the party’s only female. She is wearing a plain white tunic, her hair carefully placed in a bun. She also has a pair of sunglasses on, much like the ones frequented by Deacon Jeremiah. She cries out in disgust and shouts back at the preacher.
Woman: How dare you, you pig!!! Who are you to levy such an accusation against me?!
Matthews: I am God’s sole chosen earthly weapon currently on the frontline in the ongoing war against eternal sin. That’s who the hell I am! And don’t even act like you don’t know you’ve made the arrangements already!
The woman rises to her feet, and removes her sunglasses. She rears back her left arm and hurls the pair at the Southern Baptist. They catch Matthews right on the chin. He then stops, and simply stares defiantly into her newly revealed hazel eyes, almost as if he can feel the burning fire fueling her hatred.
The woman then trudges off, leaving in the same direction as Jeremiah did previously. Matthews then retakes his seat and gives the rest of the men a look. Some look befuddled, but also curious as to what rational explanation could exist for these outbursts. If their masked friend really might be telling the truth. Matthews then picks up an uneaten half loaf or bread. He then breaks it and passes each half to the person on either side of him. They repeat the action keeping a portion for themselves, and so on until the scene fades to black.

Scene 2 – Dream Sequence, Garden of Gethsemane, Jerusalem, Israel
The scene picks back up in a garden, where Matthews, still wearing the clothes he was at dinner, is kneeling down in front of a bush. His head is bowed, his eyes closed, his hands folded. He is locked deeply into concentration. About thirty feet away, lying asleep on the ground, is Deacon Jeremiah. Matthews has come to terms with what his fate may ultimately be, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t use his one last chance to get a word in.
Matthews: Father, after all of the good that I have done for you, why have you assigned this horrible fate unto me? For years, I have served as your loyal servant, striking down many who would have persisted in spitting on your very name, further allowing them to forever rot humanity to its very core. Shouldn’t this be the fate of all of those that I have combated to defend your very honor?
Matthews goes silent, and waits anxiously for an answer, be it a sign or anything of a similar nature. Nothing happens. Except for the very faint sounds of the night, nothing can be heard, and there is no movement. But, a faint glow of light can be seen in the distance. The light comes closer to Matthews, a definite indicator that this very garden is its intended destination. While the preacher can sense it, he simply remains on the ground, steadfast in waiting for a reply to his prayer.
As the light gets closer, it is clear that the light is comprised of the flames from several torches being carried by an approaching Roman legion. There are about six of them, five soldiers carrying spears and a high priestess dressed in a plain burlap robe. And, as they come up behind Matthews, it is clear that the legionnaires are none other than Ryan “The Reaper” Robinson, TJ Parks, Mariah Lopez, Rachel Robinson, Crystal Alvarez, and “The Lethal Latina” Danielle Lopez.
Matthews looks up to sky and begins to scream at the top of his lungs…
Matthews: WHY FATHER, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?!?!?!
Danielle Lopez, the resident high priestess, points at the screaming holy man. The rest of the legionnaire Team Lethality members form a semi-circle around him. Reaper adjusts his helmet for a second, and proceeds to spit on Matthews. Danielle Lopez walks up and motions for Mariah to pass her weapon. Mariah complies, and Danielle takes the butt end of her spear and rams it down into the back of the kneeling pastor’s head. Matthews slumps forward, immediately having gone unconscious. The Team Lethality grouping then begin to laugh amongst themselves, as Rachel brings out a bundle of rope and the scene fades to black.

Scene 3 – Birmingham First Baptist Church, Birmingham, Alabama, Present Day
The scene opens to the pastoral offices of Birmingham First Baptist Church. The room is silent, and sitting alone in the room behind an oak desk is none other than the PCW Platinum Champion, “The Evangelist” Jerry Matthews. The room is dark, except for the illumination of a single white spotlight centering on the dear Reverend. He is wearing a white cotton suit, and his hands are folded on top of the desk, right next to the Platinum Championship belt.
Matthews: Brothers and sisters of the faithful, lately I have been plagued by dreams of a particularly horrible nature. Dreams involving the betrayal of someone I formerly loved very dearly to the exact pack of rabid wolves I’ve struggled for the past four months. The very wolves that would love nothing more than rip my throat out with their bare jaws.
Matthews abruptly stops, stopping for a slight shiver. He then continues.
Matthews: Dreams where I was taken captive, and subjected to one of the worst fates anyone could possibly imagine. However, even with this segment being taped, it is still far too grisly to describe on air. There have been many nights where these dreams have jolted me awake, and I find myself broken out in a cold sweat each and every time.
"But, in retrospect, clearly this was a sign from God on what may happen in my future. And, it also helped me to realize how important the main event matchup of the June 8 edition of Saturday Rapture really truly was. Why is that? Well, the answer is simple. Normally, I would proceed to spew my usual bullshit on the platform such a match provided, as it would elevate the potential viewership to be evangelized. Not on Saturday, however. Instead, Saturday night is about exposing Team Lethality as the no-good, sinful, lying, disgusting band of hypocrites that they truly are."
"Ever since I and Deacon Jeremiah walked into a PCW arena for the first time at a show backstage, we have been vilified. Made out to be nothing more than a pair of idiotic, drooling zealots. All because of our beliefs. The beliefs we give no bones about having. The beliefs for which the two of us have committed what some would call the most disgusting atrocities they had ever seen. Despite my role in burying Draven Logan Kennedy and his career six feet under after the entire kidnapping saga of his wife Alice, my role in running off an unnamed THW World Champion from this company, my role in the nearly successful sacrifice of that lesbian leech Aurora Rose, to the psychological hold I have over Ryan “The Reaper” Robinson, my actions were always for furthering a purpose. How big of a purpose and what it is? Well, it’s only the grandest problem in the history of man, and it’s making that humanity alters its behavior to avoid the fires of Armageddon. And it’s because of my deeply-held beliefs that I have taken up such a purpose."
"Yet, it seems that the same who have in the past bashed myself and Deacon Jeremiah have failed to raise a similar stink about their very heroes doing things far worse than. The record will show that when a woman has been held in my stead, as in the case of Alice Humes Kennedy, that no physical harm ever came to her. The same cannot be said for PCW’s two biggest heroes who have behaved like nothing more than fanatical terrorists. Recently, they took an innocent man, Jimmy Gambino, into captivity. They beat him, they bloodied him, and left him physically and mentally drained. And for what? Why, to get title shots they felt were rightfully theirs. Danielle getting a shot at Syn, and Reaper getting a rematch against me. And Morgan Simmons had no choice but to relent, and grant the title shots so that no harm would come to Gambino. All so that Danielle and Reaper could achieve their own goals of personal advancement."
"Reaper and Danielle have no doubt already told you about how my mindset is outdated, and the terrible things that they are going to do to me in our tag match. But, let me assure you that nothing of that nature will occur. You see, friends, the time has come to attempt to stem the tide. To draw a fine line in the sand, and make one final stand. A stand for the fans of PCW, a stand for General Manager Morgan Simmons, and most importantly, for God the Father. Danielle and Reaper have committed the most grievous act imaginable, and they have been rewarded. Such behavior will continue until their reign of tyranny is stopped."
"Luckily, two men stand in their way. The World Champion, the enigma known as Syn The man hell-bent on spreading as much destruction as he can. Luckily for me, he is also extremely selfish. Otherwise, I may not have the aid of his services. His belt and livelihood are threatened, meaning that he won’t be a worry. I may not agree with the man’s personal philosophies, but I agree that the enemy of my enemy is my friend."
"Danielle, Reaper, prepare yourselves. On Saturday night, Team Lethality’s reign of terror comes to a close. And, it will be because of the final stand that Syn and myself put up. And God will smile upon my cause once again, and bless me as he always has. Forever and ever. The Word of the Lord. Thanks Be to God."
Matthews crosses himself, and closes his eyes for a moment of prayer. The scene then fades to black.
