The WWA Tag Team Championship is known as a top prize within the Women's Wrestling Alliance. It started off with The Goddesses of Metal as the champions, but The Lethal Barbarians duo of Mariah Lopez and Rachel Robinson were the ones who put the division on the map, with their second reign being 393 days, the longest of any championship in the company. These days, teams try and emulate the standards that Mariah and Rachel set for the titles.
There has been twenty-three championship reigns among twenty-one teams. The Lethal Barbarians hold the longest reign of 393 days, and they along with The Boston Bombshells, are the only tag teams to have held the titles more than once. With the Ninja Squad's reign as Tag Team Champions, group members Lethalclaw, Lethalkill, Bullet Saw, Red Blade and Christina Rose are recognized as holders of the belt and any combination of them can defend the championship. Individually, Mariah Lopez and Rachel Robinson are tied for the most reigns at three, and the two of them along with Talia Skye, are the only people to have won the titles with two different partners. The Canadian Glam Squad holds the record for most defenses at ten. The Thompson Sister's hold the record for the shortest reign at 14 days
