We open to a press conference room at the headquarters of WWA in San Diego, California. Danielle Lopez is seated, with her black hair tied in a ponytail while wearing a professional business suit like dress with black heels. "The Lethal Latina" doesn't take long to begin speaking.
Danielle Lopez: I will be taking questions at this time. Anybody who has anything to ask, shoot it.
Reporter #1: Miss Lopez. With the acquisition of Japan Pro Wrestling and all of its assets now 100% complete, what exactly do you plan on doing with the promotion?
Danielle Lopez: Truth be told, I cannot get into all of the details at this time, but from a business standpoint, JPW could definitely use an improvement or two. They are still feeling the effects of the talent exodus from the beginning of 2016. They had a very down year that year, and it got worse last year... but I think with a lot of development, patience, as well as finding that cornerstone to build around, the company can get back to where it was a few years ago.
Reporter #2: Continuing on the JPW subject. Would the amount of shows change now that you are in charge?
Danielle Lopez: Absolutely. I think JPW ran way too many shows, and it devalued the product severely. To be fair though, there was a lot of talent they had at that time, probably too much of a good thing... but over time, it developed into what we are seeing at the moment with them not in a good spot. My vision would be once a month, so the market up there doesn't get oversaturated with too much JPW. You want to find a healthy balance for the product, and I think we can do that.
Reporter #3: With the mass exodus of 2016, JPW lost Gaijin talent such as Crystal Alvarez, Mariah Lopez, Alex Schafer, Talia Skye, Ciaran Quin, Bella and Ryan Robinson, as well as losing Tom Pendergrass to Mixed Martial Arts. Can the company get any of those names back?
Danielle Lopez: No doubt. I'm well connected within the world of sports and entertainment. WWA itself has proven to be very viable among a lot of female talent, even though irrelevant asshats try and put us down. Our working relationship with Cardinal City Pro has paid huge dividens for both companies, and I'm pretty sure JPW will continue their working relationships with both companies so we can replenish the Gaijin scene, as well as the Japanese talents. Its a win-win for us all.
Reporter #4: When will the first show of the rebooted version of JPW be taking place?
Danielle Lopez: That's a good question. Its one I can't answer right now as we're still working out a lot of details, but its coming.
Reporter #1: Going to WWA. How are you feeling about the product at this time?
Danielle Lopez: Excited. We have some names who have stepped up recently, as well as a couple of signees who are making an impact. The team of Izumi Sato and Hannah Kristiansen is a team to watch out for. They worked extremely well together this past Friday night and I see big things in store for them. Talia Skye, my best friend, continues to reinvent the wheel and prove why she is the #GOAT! Taryn Willow has taken her performances to a whole new level and has made the Hardcore Title matter, and the Killswitch Knockouts are the faces of the Trios division which is always good to see.
Reporter #2: Word is you're planning on signing Aubrey Cassidy to a WWA contract. Is this true?
Danielle Lopez: I've read this out there. I'm not going to say much, but if the girl wants to join and wants the opportunity to improve, hey the more the merrier. Its as I have always said since day one; you earn your opportunities. NOTHING is handed to you. Wins and losses, as well as good performances matter. I had to do it when I was a competitor, and my expectations for my employees is to work hard and the opportunities will come.
Reporter #3: Shifting to CCP. Although you and the Callaway brothers strictly say this is a working relationship, talents as well as fans from both promotions are treating recent events as a "CCP versus WWA" thing, beginning with The Canadian Glam Squad winning the CCP Tag Team Championship at Girls Night Out, to Mya Lopez answering Marlon Cure's open challenge for the Junior Heavyweight Championship, and the Apocalypse making two appearances on WWA television to cause chaos, as well as Big Beauty making appearances. Is there any credence to this?
Danielle Lopez: No! I can admire the talent and the fans thinking as they are very passionate about the products we put out, and let me tell you. CCP has some of the very best fans in the world, and they do have some talented wrestlers on that roster, some of them I've worked with in PCW. On the same token, WWA definitely has talented athletes and our fans are definitely passionate and rowdy. But by no means is it a promotion versus a promotion thing as I have great respect for Christopher and Richard Callaway and all the work they do for CCP, as well as the Ohio Valley region as a whole. That respect is why I decided to work a few matches for CCP and hang up my tights for good on my own terms.
Danielle takes a drink of water.
Danielle Lopez: I think that was the last one. I'll be at the Nassau Colliseum this Friday night for Frenzy so go watch that, as well as our brothers from Cardinal City Pro!
Danielle gets up and leaves as we fade to black.
