Chapter I: PCW's closing
The scene is just minutes after the ending of Anarchy back on October 12th, 2013. Morgan Simmons had announced to the world that PCW was closing up shop for the second, and likely final time. Backstage is rather gloomy as most of the talent is wondering what happens from here, where do they go? Where will they find work? Some had already had other work, and the developmental talent is all good, but cornerstones like Danielle Lopez, Brian Stryker, Syn, Curtis Wilkes and Yoshiru Long, those type of talents were the ones where people were wanting to know what would happen next. Meanwhile, James Baker and his new faction, Da Xtreme Regime, were understandably disappointed at what just happened.
James Baker: Son of a bitch! I didn't think she had that in her. I thought she was bluffing.
Abby Parker: What on earth are we going to do now?
James Baker: You and the Allen Sisters have JPW and Pride as employment. I know big man is in JPW as well, same with the Awesome's.
J.T. Banks: We gon' get her back in the worst fuckin' way chief.
James Baker: You got damn right we are. We ain't takin' no muthafuckin' prisoners up in this bitch.
The scene shifts away to the present where in a studio seats James Baker, looking vastly different since that time, wearing a cut off NWA t-shirt, black leggings and black high heeled boots with his long blonde hair curled and his makeup on point. These days, he's taken on the role of a drag queen, and it has brought him success and a rather divided opinion on his look, but he seems to be highly enjoying it.
James Baker: Admittedly during that timeframe, I was pushed out of creative. I was shoved out in favor of some "new age" booking. I couldn't for the life of me tell you what their thought process was, but when not even six months later the promotion folds, well... that tells you that I was right the whole time and they weren't. Are there things I could have done better? Yes, one-hundred percent... but I can't really change that.
We shift over to Da Xtreme Dynasty, who has their own thoughts.
J.T. Banks: By the time 2013 hit, shit was fuckin' chaotic. The THW situation had made everybody uneasy. People were either leaving way before that, or were on the verge. A few came back... but things were fucked up fam and shit hit the fan on Heather Monroe's last night, and apparently our World Champion at that time decided to split as well.
Kevin Styles: Totally. Like you know, James is our boy and all, but fucking A dude, he royally shit the bed when it came to managing those talent's.
J.T. Banks: And you can't forget about the Jay Thunder shit. I have nothing against the kid and all, but you mean to tell me that Damon Warrens and Liam Reilly were inferior to him? Bruh I call bullshit on that one. That ain't right. Especially pissing Talia off. Of course, I wanted to kill him... but yeah, James fucked up and rightfully so, he got a shit ton of backlash for his bullshit.
We shift it over to Danielle Lopez.
Danielle Lopez: It's quite funny actually. I look back at PCW fondly and miss it, but goddamn the motherfucker poorly mismanaged a lot of shit. Once the THW affiliation happened, which I'll be completely honest, most, if not the entirety of the roster wasn't in favor of it. We did not want those fucking idiots to infiltrate the company, yet he allowed it and what did they immediately do? Cause trouble of course. They fucked with me for a good five months until I verbally ripped them to shreds at Struggle for Power III. I was genuinely surprised I wasn't fired due to what happened to Damon Warrens. In fact, I'll go as far as to say that if Damon and James never had a falling out, Damon wouldn't have been fired for his views regarding that company and regarding Jay Thunder.
James royally fucked up with those situations, and he quite honestly looks like an idiot for backing those two entities over Damon, because guess who was right in the end? I've already stated this on CCP Television, but if the firing never happened, we would have gotten the dream Triple Threat match between myself, Talia and Heather when it SHOULD HAVE HAPPENED, and there's no fucking question Talia and I would have won the Tag Team Titles because at that time, there were no damn teams who were as good as us. Da Dynasty hadn't come back, and Aaron and Nathan didn't join PCW full time in its second stint. Ultimately James should stay as a wrestler rather than be in creative because he's far better in the ring than he is as a booker. Just my honest take.
We now go and get the thoughts of Desiree Miles and Shannon Saint.
Desiree Miles: Oh boy! I remember this very well, much to my dismay. The atmosphere backstage was just... it was like standing on pins and needles. The THW affiliation was just bad for business. Some of us tried to be professionals about it, but there was only so much shit one could take. What those bastards did to Damon Warrens and Danielle Lopez was truly fucked up and in the eyes of many, the guys and girls slowly started to lose faith in James, and I can't say I blame them. The guy is my friend, but I was starting to become wary of his handling of things, especially in light of the Jay Thunder thing as well.
Shannon Saint: Initially him in charge was a good thing. You had somebody who seemed fair on the surface, but the cracks started to appear once THW had made a deal to be affiliated with us. You saw Wrestle Extravaganza II where Danielle Lopez went off for the first time. Those jackasses caused so much hell for her and Damon Warrens, and Baker didn't do a damn thing about it. In fact, he rewarded Jay Thunder for being a little shit, effectively shitting on a lot of things that were going well for the company. For us in commentary, it was around that same time they were messing with us.
Desiree Miles: Oh God! Yeah I remember this. After the fallout between James and Damon, officials immediately started to produce us. They started being in our headsets, telling us what to say, what we can't say, all that. I know Taint agrees with me on this, but neither of us were a fan of this move. In PCW's first run, as well as the five months into its second run, we were never produced, we were never restricted. We never really worried about anything because we never rehearsed our shit, we did all of our material on the fly because well... we are the best announce team there fucking is.
Shannon Saint: We are, we still are. I was not a fan of them being in our headsets. I think James did that by design, and that really pissed us off. If he would have left well enough alone, he wouldn't have looked like a complete idiot... but alas, here we are.
We shift over to Talia Skye who knows a thing or two about this.
Talia Skye: I think the problem was that you had former friends who were both stubborn as hell and one of those people had power. When James pushed out Damon Warrens and led to Liam Reilly leaving it made a major statement for a lot of people. And unfortunately when Damon and Liam were ultimately correct about THW as well as Jay Thunder....it unfortunately made James look like a jack ass. It sucks to see two people that I care about still hate each other to this day,....but I donèt see that changing.
With that, that's the end of the first chapter.
Chapter II: JPW Tenure
A year and a half had passed since PCW's closure, and the rumors were out about Baker joining Japan Pro Wrestling for a big six person tag team match pitting Da Xtreme Dynasty against The Black Rose Mafia. At the time, it was billed as "Husbands versus wives". The sides all hyped it up on Twitter.
J.T. Banks: I tell you, that was a match that we all wanted. Da Dynasty versus The Mafia, two legendary stables who were actually associated with one another, to face off in a match about respect. This was also going to draw a lot of money for JPW because let's be honest, who didn't want to see this match?
Kevin Styles: Right? It was a dream match, and when Dani and Talia had signed deals to do business over there due to the affiliation with WWA, we knew the possibility of it grew a thousand percent. We just had to get James on board.
J.T. Banks: Surprisingly he was all for it. I think a large payday, as well as just good business in general, drew him in. He never got to wrestle in Japan up until that point, so that was another thing he wanted to cross off the bucket list.
We shift forward to August 1st, 2015 at Summer to Survive. First time ever and both The Black Rose Mafia and Da Xtreme Dynasty took part in one of the most anticipated matches of all time. The Mafia won and all seemed good from both sides... until James Baker turned into a villain and helped the Hot and Sexy duo of Katie Chason and Brittany Kinary attack the three members of The Black Rose Mafia after Styles and Banks went to the back. The legendary tag team came back out but the damage had been done.
James Baker: The turning part was my idea to do something shocking, and that was going to be a way to put some heat on me and see how this JPW venture goes. We had buzz after that match, we were riding sky high. Everybody was talking about us.
J.T. Banks: Hell it was a great time. The turn was just perfectly done. It was done in a way to make him dastardly and make the Mafia more heroic than they already were. But behind the scenes from what I remember, there was tension between the Riyamatsu's and the Japanese Sporting Commission. That was just one of the problems JPW had at that time, and unfortunately things went south and that whole thing at Summer to Survive proved to be for nothing as the talent exodus happened and most of the Gaijin talent left, Kev and I were included in that.
Kevin Styles: We had different reasons. By this point I have a family. Desiree and I are married and we have a child who needs us. I wanted to be closer to home while still wrestling, and going back and forth between San Diego and Japan wasn't cutting it for me. James also left but we never asked why he did or whatnot.
We cut to Amy Riyamatsu, who was a key part of JPW backstage.
Amy Riyamatsu: During this time, the company was slowly transitioning to me, but we had some complications along the way. One of those being this match. I had the long drawn out plan for this story and we were going to culminate it at Summer to Survive the following year. Yet other factors interfered in that plan, not to mention a lot of people were leaving, and I can understand it... but it was definitely a bummer that things didn't really work out.
We pan back to James Baker.
James Baker: I wish that could have played out. I had sooo much fun doing it, but it happens. I'm not bitter over it. I had fun in JPW for the time I was there, and to clarify, I was under a short term contract. There was nothing really long-term there. It just coincided with the talent exodus. I think those that left were Mariah Lopez, Rachel Robinson, Reaper, Bella, Kev, J.T., Talia left. Pretty much all of us foreigners were gone. I went back to LA and started up my own promotion, as well as help run Pride who was running again.
And that is the end of Chapter Two.
Chapter III: CCP Ambassador, and re-emergence as "The Beautiful One" in both CCP and WWA
The scene is the opening of New Years Battlefield in 2017 where James Baker makes his debut under the guise he currently competes in, pledging his allegiance to Kelly Hampton and her squad, announcing himself as a member of Mi Pi Sexy. We go back to him and he begins to speak.
James Baker: Transitioning into who I am today, I had to start making regular appearances in WWA because I knew well and good that it was a much different animal than CCP was. WWA is an organization where I really could be myself, and I definitely used that platform to gain myself some attention. And I must say the early buzz was met with both scrutiny and praise... but everybody was curious as to who James Baker truly was.
We go to Reyna Carter.
Reyna Carter: I believe I was out there for this, or...no I take that back, Angelina Williams and I were working against Kelly and her group, which he joined at the top of the pay-per-view. This was not long after I lost the WWA World Title to Crystal. Holy shit that was...awkward because not long before, he was still in his full "King of Hardcore" style so it was a bit eye catching to see him in different attire and act completely different. He was a big nuisance to us, but it became a success as time went on.
We go to Kelly Hampton, one of James Baker's good friends off the camera.
Kelly Hampton: For what you see today from James, he and I had brainstormed a lot of the early stuff. Him joining Mi Pi Sexy and becoming my right hand man, as well as our image consultant was key to getting us over as heels not just in WWA, but CCP too as we had to establish Big Beauty as the monster that she should always be.
We now jump into the beginnings of his feud with Marlon Cure, that dominated much of 2017 for the CCP Junior Heavyweight Championship.
James Baker: Ah yes. Now this particular Queen had his sights set on the Junior Heavyweight Championship. I had a point to prove, and that point was to shed the weight and prove that I could still be an effective wrestler as a Junior Heavyweight. I had to prove that, and by god, I did it. I shined like the sun in Ultimate X III. Those six long months I feuded with Marlon Cure was a highlight not just for him, but also for me in proving that I could still go amongst the best of them.
The next topic goes to his feud with his ex-wife Danielle Lopez, that finally reached its conclusion at Rebellion.
James Baker: Admittedly, I took great pleasure in feuding with her and punishing her until my heart's content. It was a joy to make Danielle bleed, to watch her suffer... although I would have liked the win with it, but I'll take anything I can get. I got injured, and it got worse after coming back and competing in the Rebellion Royal... but I'm rebuilding and let's just say that for the first time in a long time, I feel very clear and focused about my professional wrestling career as well as my personal life.
We shift the camera to Talia Skye, who has her own thoughts.
Talia Skye: Oh my lord was that an awkward time for me. On one side I had my best friend in the world Danielle Lopez, the other side someone who has become one of my closest friends and someone who I have been able to support a lot... I was definitely worried about being in the crossfire. I think though this feud was really one of the last things from the past holding James back from a real new start.
We now pan to Danielle Lopez.
Danielle Lopez: I would be lying to you if I said there wasn't hatred there between me and him. We very much hated each other due to how the divorce proceedings and really how it all came about. The feud was something that had to happen, and at least since PCW, everybody had been clamoring for a Danielle Lopez versus James Baker rivalry, it was a question of which promotion was going to allow us to do what we can do best and put on a spectacular show for the fans. Thankfully Cardinal City Pro was the promotion to do that in, knowing he was signed there and my company is affiliated with it. I enjoyed it for the most part, and it was fun to whip his ass.
Danielle smirks as Chapter Three comes to a close.
Chapter IV: The secrets
We later pan to inside of a big time home in the Beverly Hills section of Los Angeles, California. Inside is massive as the walls are painted tan with some very neat paintings on it. James Baker is being followed, now dressed in a low-cut lace shirt with the belly button showing, blue skinnies and black Anabella High Heeled Boots. He is seen walking around the house and directs everybody to go into a room that is the same color theme as the entire house, but has a Television, a dresser, a make up stand with a mirror and etc..
James Baker: This is one of the few rooms where I can get my makeup done as well as get changed. I have a looooooot of clothes.
He opens up the closet and it is filled with a lot of high heels, dresses, leggings, jeans, all kinds of shirts. You name it, he likely has it.
Camera Man: Holy crap! That's a lot of stuff.
James Baker: It is, it is. Which is why it is very disheartening when people accuse me of trolling the LGBT community. It hurt when people accused me of that. Do you really think I would have three closets worth of stuff like this if I were trolling? Do you really think I would have a ton of makeup in this house? Or better yet, do you think I would have this long blonde hair, that is real by the way, if I were trolling?
Camera Man: I would say no.
James Baker: You're smarter than I give you credit for. Now we go to where I get my beauty sleep
The camera's go to the bed room of one James Baker, where Aaron Warrens is seated on the bed, watching television. Baker plops down on the bed and gives him a hug.
James Baker: Now you may wonder why is Aaron Warrens in the same house, in the same bed room as me.
He pauses before he continues.
James Baker: Nobody really knows outside of a couple of people, and thankfully this is the secrets portion of the documentary. What I've been doing the last year is not a troll gimmick. It is in fact the real me. I'm effiminate to the core, I dress up in drag, I put on makeup. I have known this fact for quite sometime, but I think now is the time to reveal it. I am gay.
James and Aaron embrace one another with a kiss.
James Baker: This is something I am comfortable in letting out. Aaron here, is my boyfriend. He and I have been dating for three years. Although he and I have been emotionally connected for longer than that, at least since the PCW Reunion Show where our good friend Talia Skye started to set us up. A couple of dates here and there, and it has been amaaaaaaazing.
The glow in his eyes is evident.
James Baker: Babe, anything you want to say?
Aaron Warrens: Um. Hi.
James Baker: He's shy... but he's so damn cute though.
We later pan to Kevin Styles and J.T. Banks of Da Xtreme Dynasty.
Kevin Styles: I... I never knew he was even remotely attracted to other men, not that I have a problem with it. It all comes as a surprise, but hey, if he's happy with this, then it's no problem with me. I don't hate anybody in the LGBT community.
J.T. Banks: I'm a bit different when it comes to knowing. I never really knew until Talia came home one day and told me everything. It makes sense with the way he dresses and all. What do I think about it? It doesn't affect my life at all. It doesn't change the fact that for fifteen years, the three of us have been friends, and we will continue to be friends. We are and always will be a motherfuckin' Dynasty!
Kevin Styles: And that's real.
We shift over to Morgan Simmons.
Morgan Simmons: Me and him have had a dislike for one another for a very long time, stemming from very early in our careers. But with time, the hatred goes away. I haven't interacted with him in quite sometime, but I do wish him all the best and with his life choices, if he is comfortable in his own skin, then hey, good for him.
Now we go to Desiree Miles.
Desiree Miles: For as long as I knew him, I never knew. It caught me off guard. But I think the general theme amongst those who don't care one way or another, if he's happy, then he's happy.
We now go back to James Baker.
Producer: Let's talk about your friendship with Talia Skye. How did you two become close?
James Baker: Her and I have always been friends, but it was in 2015 that we started becoming closer. I was confiding in her on a lot of personal things. Me and Dani had gotten a divorce, and although those two are best friends, I just needed somebody to talk to. She is a saint of a woman. I found it extremely easy to open up to her, and I just let it all go. I let every single thing come out, and I'm very happy she was supportive for it all.
Producer: What was between you and Damon Warrens anyways?
James Baker: The two of us were friends. Very good friends. He and I grew very close in the first stint. There were also some things we had done too...
Producer: Like?
James Baker: He and I had a fling with one another. It was brief. It involved the office, it involved his locker room. The thong thing, the re-entry into the PCW Hall of Fame. It was all intense. But I know he hates me today for dating his brother in-law. I can't concentrate on making him like me because that's a futile thing in of itself.
Baker says with assurance.
James Baker: What I can do really is concentrate on my career going forward, making the impact in CCP, my personal life, and my business interests. Most of all, I can finally be my true self and I'm happy with it. I'm genuinely happy with everything that has gone on.
With that, we end this documentary.
