The camera pans up close to a sitdown area where Courtney Erickson, appearing in a short black dress, is seated in a chair. Across the chair from her seats the owner of the Women's Wrestling Alliance, Danielle Lopez. Dani is in her usual attire of ripped up faded skinny jeans, sneakers and a Los Angeles Lakers t-shirt.
Courtney Erickson: Hello ladies and gentlemen! Courtney Erickson here, and I welcome you to this WWA.com exclusive! Joining me at this time is a very special guest of mine. PCW Hall of Famer, two time and final PCW World Heavyweight Champion, and most important of all, she is the owner of the Women's Wrestling Alliance. Please welcome "The Lethal Latina" Danielle Lopez.
The two of them shake hands.
Courtney Erickson: Boss...
Danielle Lopez: Court, you have worked here long enough. Just call me Dani or Danielle, this whole formal shit is eh. I'm just a regular person who has power.
Courtney Erickson: Fair enough. My first question is following a successful Thanksgiving Thunder, and with you back in charge, what is the plan for WWA going forward?
Danielle Lopez: Give the people the best shows possible. That has always been the number one mission statement for this company. We know the paying customer is the most important aspect of them all, and if they're not tuning in or buying tickets, then that's fucking with your money.
Courtney Erickson: Why did you count the fall in the #TitleForTitleII match between Mariah Lopez and Crystal Alvarez?
Danielle Lopez: Why not? There are no rules in the handbook that states I couldn't do it. It was a No Disqualification match, the referee was out and wasn't going to get back into contention, and I had to do what I possibly could to save MY COMPANY! And if that meant counting the deciding fall for Cardinal City Pro's representative to win? Then so be it.
Courtney Erickson: Your cousin Mariah was less than pleased about that FYI. How do you feel about this?
Danielle Lopez: Mariah is blood, she's the younger sister I never had... but as she always says, it's nothing personal, it's just business. She pulls the same shit, yet when it comes back to her, she gets all huffy and puffy, and we see a temper tantrum. I know I didn't teach her how to throw a fucking fit.
Courtney Erickson: One topic that you shed a little light on was Taryn Willow. Leon Lonewolf announced that he brought Taryn back to a WWA contract. Your thoughts?
Danielle Lopez: This is the kind of bullshit that happens when I'm not around. And contrary to what he says, there was good reason why I terminated that person. She was hit with assault. Do you see anybody else on this roster hit with a case like that? No you do not. Not to mention a cancerous presence in the locker room, especially with some of the younger less experienced wrestlers back there. While I am not paying her per say, that's the Network and Leon Lonewolf's ordeal... buuuuuuuuut if she so much as fucks up once, she's gone and I can do this because WWA IS MY COMPANY!
Courtney Erickson: Back to The Network. How has the relationship between you and them always been?
Danielle goes into thought mode for a brief moment before continuing.
Danielle Lopez: At best, fucking tense. There has been tension for the last six years. Ever since I snapped and trashed the fuck out of those idiots from THW on live pay-per-view prior to a Broadcast Championship defense. I remember this as if it were yesterday. Network officials wanted PCW to fire me on the spot after I just let it all go, which the majority of the roster fucking approved of it by the way. I thank Adrien Cochrane for reasoning with them and I was not only kept on the roster, but I got to have that really good run in 2013. The run that some might say was my greatest as a competitor because I grew from the Code of Honor to a ruthless vicious person who stopped giving a shit about what everybody thought of her, and did things her own way all the while retaining the love and support from the fans. Dare I say I got more popular with the fans but that's another story for another time.
Sadly the tension continued when I created the Women's Wrestling Alliance. Before we aired our first show on February 14, 2014. It was a little of a challenge to find a network because I at that time, was an unproven wrestling promoter. I was a proven talent, but despite having my Masters Degree in business administration as well as having a very strong financial acumen, I was unproven in some aspects. With the folding of PCW months prior, PTN NEEDED a company to fill in the void, and who better than an upstart promotion ran by the final World Champion in PCW history?
Courtney Erickson: So this issue was long before WWA?
Danielle Lopez: Correct. Bobbi Antoni with no D, same as the Houston Rockets coach who fucking failed miserably with my Lakers, fucking HATES ME, and he didn't want WWA on The Network, but he caved as PTN was floundering. Enter WWA, and the revenues and the ratings were on an upswing, and back in the very early stages of this company, we didn't have a lot of proven talent outside of Morgan Simmons. A lot of our shit was based off of girls who were eager to make a name for themselves. They largely left us alone after Talia came to the company, and had some recruits.
They pestered me a bit in 2016 because Reyna Carter, who was a rookie on a two way deal for PCW in 2013, became WWA World Champion, and Antoni with no D was howling up a fucking storm about how unproven Rey was despite the fact that she had a great reign as Hardcore Champion, and had a lot of untapped potential. Rey tore it up as champion, and they got off my back when I finally signed Crystal to a contract, because she was the hottest name around at that time and that's when business boomed for us. Those two helped lead us to where we are today as a promotion.
Courtney Erickson: Then this past July happened...
Danielle Lopez: Yeah... Mariah went into business for herself. I specifically told her to NOT go with the fucking idea. What did she do? She did it anyways. Her and Aubrey were about to fuck on live television. Now I did what any owner would do in that situation. Fine the hell out of them to where it sends a message. I think about 500 to 700 thousand respectively is more than fair... yet Antoni with no D thought otherwise. And here we are today, I'm still in control but the assholes still want to stick it to me.
Courtney Erickson: Have you thought about moving Frenzy to another Network?
Danielle Lopez: That thought has crossed my mind, and we have a few networks who reached out to us. Right now, we have to eradicate cancers from this company all over again.
Courtney Erickson: Last thing I want to talk to you about, and that's the Richard Callaway situation with Cardinal City Pro...
Danielle Lopez: Alright...
Courtney Erickson: The verdict stated that Richard was found not guilty. Now throughout the entire process, Law Enforcement and Prosecutors were dragging his name in the mud and attempting to portray him as a very cutthroat, ruthless and conniving business man. One instance that was reported by an anonymous source was him entering a partnership with you to have CCP affiliated with WWA then signing your ex-husband to a contract, strictly so he could stake a claim on the rich PCW library. Your thoughts?
Danielle Lopez: I read that entire piece in full. I was initially shocked because not once did he ever come across as that kind of person in our negotiations. My take on it today is that it was nothing but bullshit. That anonymous source wanted to badly drag his name through the mud. The Women's Wrestling Alliance still has a working relationship with Cardinal City Pro. Hell, #TitleForTitleII was mostly the brainchild of the person who now holds CCP and WWA World Titles, but officials from both places worked together to make it happen.
Even with Richard having to deal with the legal bullshit, we all still worked together. I've said it before and I'll say it again, working with CCP on things is a very easy process because they know how to get shit done. They don't beat around the bush, and neither do I. We are all go-getters and the partnership between our promotions has helped both of us grow. It's a fruitful partnership that benefits both of our companies, and will continue to do so in the future for years to come.
