Over the last several months, there has been heated tension between WWA chairwoman Danielle Lopez and PTN Network executives. While the company itself has been steady throughout 2018, the situation between Lopez and the Network has deteriorated to the point of no return, with rumors suggesting the grudge dates all the way back to Lopez's time as an active wrestler in Premium Championship Wrestling.
In that situation, Lopez, who was a hot commodity as a singles wrestler and pegged to be a future World Champion, had enough and buried True Honor Wrestling in a live interview segment at Struggle for Power III six years ago with plenty of PCW wrestlers supporting her in that endeavor. The Network wanted Danielle fired from PCW, but officials not only did not want that to happen, but they along with a few wrestlers, pleaded for The Network to back off, which they did.
It has been two weeks since Danielle was banned from appearing live on television, and not really a word had come from her or any representative from her camp. Today, we report that Danielle had been removed from her post as the chairwoman of the Women's Wrestling Alliance, and immediately after being stripped of her powers, she sold all of her shares in the company. Who bought those shares is not known at this time, but word has it that if WWA were ever to fold, Danielle would immediately be given the video library upon closure of the company.
Below is a statement from Danielle Lopez.
"In almost five years, the Women's Wrestling Alliance went from nothing to something. A lot of people laughed when I decided to form this company. We got shitted on quite a bit in the early years. There are a lot of people who thought we would fail. The naysayers thought we would only last three months, but it's been almost five years and I'm proud to say we proved every single motherfucker wrong.
I know the news of me being outed from my very company is a bit of a shock, and believe me, I was floored when I was told this... but a part of me feels that this is a blessing. It allows me to kind of regroup and figure out where exactly I want to go next. Could it be possible for me to ever open up another promotion again? Yes it could, but not anytime soon. I wish every single woman on the WWA roster the very best, and I know you girls will kick ass just as you always have. As for those who removed me from power, well Karma has a way of collecting and you will get yours eventually. Believe it."
We definitely look forward to seeing what is next for Danielle in life, or perhaps in the world of wrestling.
