The Joshi Championship is the third singles championship of the Women's Wrestling Alliance. The championship was revealed on the 177th edition of Friday Night Frenzy as Mariah Lopez retired the Hardcore Title, and proclaimed the Joshi Championship as WWA's third singles championship. Every match is contested under Joshi Rules which are as followed...
1.) Each wrestler has 3 rope breaks to stop submission holds and pinfalls (yes, pin falls are now legal) during the match. After a wrestler exhausts her rope breaks, submission and pin attempts under the ropes by the opponent, are considered legal.
2.) There are no closed-fist punches to the face allowed in a Joshi Title Match, only open-handed slaps or chops to the face are allowed! Punches to other parts of the body (save for low-blows) are permitted. The first use of a closed fist will get a warning, and the second will cause the wrestler to be penalized a rope break. If she is already out of rope breaks, she will be disqualified.
3.) A wrestler is subject to a 20 count by the referee if the wrestler goes to the floor. For now on, the title can change hands on a disqualification or count out. Only exceptions are if both wrestlers are counted out or the match ends in a No Contest, the title remains on the champion.

Summarized History of the Championship:
As mentioned, the championship was revealed on the 177th edition of Friday Night Frenzy when Mariah Lopez retired the Hardcore Championship she defeated Morgan Simmons for, and created the Joshi Championship as its replacement. Mariah's reasoning was the Hardcore Title did not fit the direction WWA was going as a company and wanted to bring Pure Wrestling back to prominence. Lopez's run as champion was dominant as she defended the championship against all comers, setting the standard for all who would try to follow the impressive reign. There have been four reigns among four holders of the championship, with Tara Cabral having the longest reign at 182 days and the most title defenses at 8.
