In what comes as a shocking decision, lead backstage interviewer Courtney Erickson and the Women’s Wrestling Alliance parted ways after the airing of the 185th edition of Friday Night Frenzy. Erickson was rumored of wanting to go back to sports reporting and had requested her release, which Danielle Lopez granted her her request.
In the early hours of Monday morning, Erickson’s replacement is Melanie Mendoza, who wrestled under the name Melanie Ramirez. Mendoza hasn’t been seen in a WWA ring since May and elected to retire from the ring due to recurring injuries. Many say a rumored spinal injury suffered in a match against Angie Ness led to her retirement but nothing has been confirmed. Mendoza will be heading the interviews alongside Richelle Ross going forward.
